She murmurs a protest to animal abuse having been committed to make her boots - but quietly, barely moving her lips - as she follows her friend into the blissfully warm building. Past the door she begins unwinding the scarf from her neck, shivering a couple times more as if to rid herself of the last vestiges of chill. “I’d never kill raccoons…”
“I’m probably going to be terrible at this,” she warns, her eyes widening a little as they reach the kitchen - the tools there were …incredible. her kitchen at home was too small, too outdated, and every cooking utensil she owned was either a hand-me-down, secondhand from a thrift store, or just poor (cheap) quality. This - this kitchen was state of the art, shining, clean, and gorgeous. Unable to help herself, she begins to touch everything. “you get to cook here every day??!” her jaw is swinging slightly from the loose hinge that used to be her mandible.
"I get to--" Kyungsoo repeats the words with a little snort of a laugh, his brow crinkling incredulously at the girl. "More like I have to. Grandma expects me to show up for every single shift unless I'm bleeding or unable to physically move." The readhead teases and he starts opening the tubs on the counter, living them up neatly before he gives a sigh. "Alright-- let's wash our hands and start. I'll let you do the first two tubs because they just need a rough chop, big cubes. I'll do the fine dicing and such with the others." He's pushing up the sleeves of his gray hoodie, moving over to the other side of the kitchen to wash his hands. "And I see the wonder all over your face, but you oughtta save it-- our equipment is old, we just clean it every day so it stays looking new." With that, he reaches out to take two good-sized knives from one of the butcher blocks, offering one over to Matsu.
