The cool thing about greek mythology is, that it treats the main themes of life. It's always up to date, so to say. But some stories are really hard to understand from a 21 century point of view. Kleobis and Biton were the sons of a priestess of Hera. The priestess, Cydippe, wanted to visit a festival in honour of Hera but the cattle to pull her cart didn't arrive. So her sons pulled her all the way to the festival. The proud mommy asked of the godess to give her sons the best present, that can be given to a mortal. So Hera gave them a pleasant death in their sleep. It figuers that the ancient greek people thought, that dying young was good. Crazy thing about it is, that they didn't belive in an afterlife. That was it. This is my twisted way of saying: Amy, I will miss your music. Resquiescas in pace!
