SAID YES TO THE DRESS - AT FREAKINā KLEINFELDāS!
Did NOT expect that to happen.Ā
I had thought I found āthe oneā online about 2 months ago when browsing gowns online, Stella York 6291. It seemed like everything I wanted in a gown, sweetheart neckline with illusion details on the straps, beautiful beading with floral lace detailing, soft in color, looked like something from a fairy tale but more lovely. I finally tried it on about 2-3 weeks ago with my mom and aunt, but didnāt want to say āyesā. I was saying I was 99.9% sure I would say āyesā after a little time (since my wedding isnāt until early Nov 2017) and I didnāt want to rush in to buying a gown right then. But I felt so in love with it.
I had an appointment made at Kleinfeldās for the next weekend and decided Iād keep it. I wanted to have the experience of going, to try on some more gorgeous gowns and have some fun. This was going to be my last dress appointment to try on anything, I figured it would help me know that the other gown was āthe oneā because mostly what I saw online at Kleinfeldās was either A) Not my style B) Ridiculously priced and not worth it
I went with my mom, my aunt and my SIL whoās one of my bridesmaids. I met with Camille and Morgan who is currently interning with Kleinfeldās, showed them my āTop 5ā they ask you to bring, and told them about the Stella York gown that was the ācontenderā as I was calling it, the one I was really planning to get. They pulled 3 gowns which I tried on, all feeling a littleā¦.eh. Something was missing, something wasnāt great, just wasnāt in to any of them. Camille would ask how it compared to the Stella York to get me to think about it and said āIt sounds like you really love this other gownā¦ā Part of me felt bad to be trying these gowns on and āwasting their timeā in helping me but they were so nice and essentially said āOf course not, donāt worry, weāre here to help you and this is what we doā which made me feel better.
Morgan mentioned sheād seen the Stella York gown in person and after I asked if there were any more gowns to try on (given the style I was looking for and my budget), she said yes and pulled one more. Looking at it at firstā¦I was curious but unsure. After I put it on, I slowly began to take it all inā¦ there was a lot going on in the hallway when I would step out which was a bit distracting, but my mom, my aunt, SIL, Camille and Morgan seemed to begin to gush about the gown and how I looked in itā¦ They had me stand in the main area with the bigger couches and pedestals with mirrorsā¦I walked around in the gownā¦DID NOT WANT TO TAKE IT OFF!!! I didnāt want to say yes because I was anxious about the price, it was double what the other gown was, but this was well within the budget my mom was giving me. But I just couldnāt stop looking at it, walking around, noticing all the detailsā¦.and so I said yes!!!
I think this gown has similar details, the neckline, the flowers and beading, itās romantic, and soft (in the ivory/ivory) but it fits my body more. I have a longer torso and the cut of the gown works well. Itās a lot moreā¦well SEXY! My mom kept saying it was more elegant. I think itās more womanly, it that makes sense? Itās more flattering to my shape.
I realized later on I had seen this gown on Kleinfeldās site but didnāt add it to my āTop 5ā³ to try on. Itās so funny because I was so sure I would never get a gown like this, or at Kleinfeldās! Whatās more awesome is that because of my height and the 2 1/2ā heels Iāll wear, I wonāt probably need a hem ā less alterations needed.
