kiyoyui is so fun bc their stories are kind of continuations of each other imo. michimiya starts off as this bright and fun girl who isn’t afraid to leap for what she wants, who keeps going in the face of failure, who fails anyway. meanwhile kiyoko begins as a closed-off character who gradually breaks out of her shell, who we later learned has failed before and got back up again with something new. both of their stories are about the bitter taste of defeat, but michimiya’s is about hanging on in spite of it and kiyoko’s is about moving on
anyway i think first year kiyoko who is a brand new manager and too shy to approach any of the boys vball team to ask about the sport x first year michimiya who is so fucking excited to have someone to share all her vball knowledge about, would be so cute 😭
yachi asks kiyoko how she got together with michimiya and kiyoko describes a graceful mutual closeness that developed into romantic feelings, a gentle confession on her part that was beautifully returned, and a consistent effort on both of their parts to make sure that both are confident and comfortable in their relationship
and daichi is dying of laughter in the background because he has long heard stories of how yui basically fell in love with kiyoko immediately, was a flustered mess every time they talked, almost fainted when kiyoko said she liked her and blurted out "I WANNA KISS YOU" in return, and has ever since freaked out to daichi every other week about whether kiyoko knows how beautiful and how good of a girlfriend she is
