In Amy’s defence she was ready to throw hands. Sonic’s the one that shut it down and pivoted to lying when he realized he couldn’t get her to drop it. Because, yeah, if he hadn’t lied, Amy would not have dropped it. He is a really good liar, but the biggest reason Amy believes it because she believes in Sonic. She believes that Sonic wouldn’t lie about something like that, and if it was serious he’d tell them. (Except he wouldn’t.) That and… you never really want someone you care about to go through something like that, so when Sonic gives the out of “haha I’m just embarrassed” it’s much easier to believe than “panicked lying” because it means your friend isn’t hurt.

There’s actually so much I could blab about in regards to why Sonic’s friends aren’t noticing because they definitely are noticing they just can’t put their finger on what’s wrong and since Sonic runs away whenever they ask him about anything it’s safer to just let it go because they (and Tails especially) are afraid if they push too hard he’ll cut them off and they’ll lose him. Which is a valid fear because he would 100% do that. And that’s a scary thing when you want to be there for your friend! They’ve been dealing with this feeling of off-ness since they were kids

In preparation for the upcoming arc, I wanna talk about design changes.  A huge part of my burnout for Sanders Sides was, as well as new interets, a lack of diversity in design. Same face for everyone with very little changes besides clothes.  It got boring.  I also felt like I couldn’t go too crazy in changing the designs of the characters because I’d already drawn them.  But that’s ridiculous.  Designs grow and change with time.  Look at Truth from his first appearance to how I drew him in the previous arc!  So, I decided to take my ethnicity headcanons I’ve almost always had for these characters and put them to work.  These are my rough designs for them.

(I do have an in universe reason for this, as silly as that is.  I think it’s fun to come up with reasons like that)
