I recently finished knitting a lovely pattern (#shellseeker by #heidikirrmaier ) and even though this was my 2nd time knitting it, I had the sinking feeling it wasn't quite right. . I had added in an extra 16 rows for the body, and realised that I simply made it too long. Like I said, a lovely sweater, but today I had to decide if I was going to do something about the extra length, or learn to live with it. A quick Google search brought me to a very useful Youtube video by Sweater Rescue about (gasp!) cutting out the extra length and Kitchener stitching the two parts together. So who's the boss of my knitting? Me!! Time to give it a lash! . It was more Kitchener stitching than I had EVER done before in one go, but I'm delighted with the end result! The jumper is now the exact right length (after cutting out 8 rows), and the join is pretty good, even in its current unblocked state. Hooray for trying new things, and spending a little extra time to get something right! #knitting #knitstagram #kitchenerstitch #instaknit #knittingrepair #knitoffpurlonpurloffkniton #tricot #strikking #strikk #sticka #stripes #everydaysaschoolday #makersgonnamake #mending #knit #lovewhatyoumake #sweaterrescue https://www.instagram.com/p/B-777CXpNKV/?igshid=uejqwufc9y0y
