I havenât done a big post-Emerald City Comic Con post in awhile but I wanted to share our cosplay pics bc @toriasimmons and I had sooooo much fun with them this year. Saturday we were Kathryn TWOton aka Lisa Frankenstein and Sammy (Abigail 2024), because Kathryn Newton got announced as a guest and we were like WELL KATHRYN TWOTON RIDES AGAIN.
I will say, not to play favorites but Kathryn was genuinely so fucking cool and talkative; she told us a bunch of fun anecdotes (Scoot McNairy taught her how to smoke on the Halt and Catch Fire set for her character because she was âbad at itâ, she got ADRâd to say âDad!â more times in Quantumania than she really did and it bugs the shit out of her, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett specifically added her into Ready or Not 2 even though production was already underway because âthey were like, no we NEED Kathrynâ and the character is based on her own personality) and also when she saw my bag of (fake) onions she yelled SAMMY THOSE ARE FUCKING ONIONS and then insisted on holding them for the picture. She probably talked with us for like 10 minutes and itâs maybe my favorite celeb interaction besides Chloe Bennet?
Katy OâBrian was also really delightful although I am afraid my brain stopped working during the interaction because she is just so hot. BUT she was super excited to look at my Love Lies Bleeding blu-ray I brought for her to sign so that helped lmao. I am just a lesbian okay. People who may remember my Summer Glau Accidental Groping Photo may note the awkward shit I am doing with my hands in the Katy pic to avoid a repeat incident.
And Sunday we were dressed as Coachellaâs hottest and most desirable attendees, Tower Prince Kiriona Gaia and Princess of Ida Coronabeth Tridentarius, fiancĂŠes and general menaces, with our mini-me American Girl dolls! Ft. a flowy cape sewn by yours truly and a shirt with one of the best Zolita lyrics designed by B. Locked Tomb is hands-down my favorite fandom to cosplay because we always make new friends and people who Get It REALLY Get It. Itâs also extremely fun to embody a character who is confident she is the hottest bitch in the room even if she looks objectively ridiculous.
