I love it when shows respect that their characters are stubborn/closed that they wouldn’t talk about their problems/issues to other characters so they use flashbacks/body swapping/other similar tropes to get the information to where it needs to be!

I knew I recognized them from somewhere
The bubbly optimistic pink one who can turn into a large animal and the shorter, ruthlessly pragmatic one with a "combative" history with her maternal figure who's only emotional support is a piece of a corpse that she brings everywhere.
Should Wolf from Kipo and the Age of the Wonderbeasts join the tumblr found family?

Strokes them
I don’t think Wolf gets enough credit for how physically strong she is. In the first couple episodes she easily lifts Kipo up off the ground with one hand multiple times, once while riding a bike as well. Then, at the end of Season 2, when Emilia jumps off the cabinet and attempts to beat Wolf into the ground with her lead pipe, Wolf, instead of jumping to the side or otherwise getting out of the way, decides that she can block that. And Wolf isn’t one to take unnecessary risks, especially during a fight, so she was extremely confident in that assessment of her strength too, which initially seemed to be correct until her wrists reminded her that they are actually only joints and not bricks of muscle like the rest of her arms. Add to the fact that she likely built most of this strength while being malnourished and before she hit puberty and suddenly Greta taking one look at her and immediately running away in the finale makes a lot more sense. That kid must have been utterly terrifying.
I absolutely love how in “Code Word Milkshake,” Wolf is just allowed to make mistakes and mess things up without it being a thing: she scares away the dragonfly and then later drops the journal. Both of those things are a pretty big deal in universe, but she’s never blamed and made to feel bad for it, which is nice to see especially because each of those mistakes subtlety show how much she’s grown because of Kipo. When she screams “and she killed Stalky,” she isn’t thinking about survival or “ringing the dinner bell,” she’s just expressing her emotions and letting out her grief and anger instead of bottling it up, which were things Kipo had been trying to get her to do in Seasons 1 and 2. And then when she drops the book, it’s because Kipo startled her by grabbing her arm and dragging her away, which again shows that their relationship has changed: Kipo can now protect Wolf and Wolf isn’t used to having anyone look out for her, so the gesture took her by surprise. And by dropping the book, Wolf puts her own safety over what Kipo needs/wants, which isn’t something she’s really done before (with the exception of hiding the letter in S1). And it’s also just nice to see the super competent fighter just make mistakes like a normal person bc I feel like dueteragonists especially aren’t really allowed to “show weakness” or make mistakes outside of major character arc defining moments.
