To make the story short, I was reviewing The Spiral Compendium for something, found an interesting note about Mellori, and went to the link that was listed to see if there was anything else interesting there. I ended up finding this on the same post:
UM HELLO? This post is originally from early 2016. I’ll never not be impressed by how early in advance KI’s writers make up for Wizard101′s story and the Spiral as a whole. This and other things in this game honestly blows my mind.
Why is playing with a storm wizard when you’re not an elemental school so stressful? They always want me to support them and get mad when I don’t. AU where Gazpaccio created Kane as normal except he also gave him a heart so he’s able to genuinely feel emotions such as sympathy, empathy, and love. This version of Kane is loyal to Gazpaccio and looks up to him like an actual father, but unfortunately, he loves him too much to the point of not wanting to argue against him and his greed.
Gazpaccio becomes consumed and corrupted with his wealth and greed, descending further and further into madness and the want for money and revenge. Kane becomes afraid of what his creator -- father -- is capable of. What he can buy. The weapons he can create. And then he creates more and more Clockworks to take over worlds, kingdoms, islands... everything. For the gold. For the vengeance.
Kane is powerful. Kane is very smart. Like canon Kane, he is smarter, stronger, and faster than any other living being in the Spiral. But his heart is his weakness. These emotions are keeping him back. His love for his father blinds him. In no way is he ever going to hurt Gazpaccio. It would hurt Kane just as much.
