Yeah that’s what I’m referring to and some non-religious people do that too (mainly in America) but I was just mentioning it in relation to the religion there because my point was about not forcing religion on your kids.

But as for circumcision itself, it makes absolutely no positive difference whatsoever. Circumcision is in no way ‘cleaner’ than being uncircumcised, that’s just a ridiculous myth that’s spread to support the mutilation. As long as you know how to wash yourself properly (which if you don’t know how to, then being unable to wash yourself is the issue, not the foreskin) then being uncircumcised is just as clean as being circumcised.

What circumcision does is cause immense pain to a defenceless baby (and as much as people like to say “you don’t remember the pain!” the baby does and it cries its eyes out from the literal torture its own parents are subjecting it to) and since the doctors have no idea how the baby is going to look when it’s grown, they can easily remove too much or too little skin for a 'safe’ circumcision and leave unsightly scar tissue or future medical problems.

And while some people with foreskin do encounter medical problems of their own later in life, it’s nothing that cannot be solved and even then, in the worst case scenarios circumcision is still an option for a consenting adult. A baby cannot consent.

Hypothetical medical problems aside, circumcision removes a large amount of nerves and completely desensitises the glans area due to it losing its protective layer of the foreskin and hardening due to all of the friction against it. The glans is supposed to remain covered unless during sex or cleaning and plays a large role in enjoyment during the former activity, which a circumcised person will unfortunately never be able to experience.

Emmeryn: Do you tend to put others’ needs before your own?

Hmm, I think I do. If someone asks me for something I’ll usually follow through. I may seem reluctant to do so, but I most often end up putting down what I’m doing to go and help out however close I may be to finishing/even if I’m on a roll. On a deeper level, I suppose I can put aside my problems to listen to other people’s, but I know for a fact that depending on the situation it can come to a point where I snap after dealing with the oh so terrible quarrels despairing someone else’s life.

I really do have to go with Pokémon trainer games. I love Mystery Dungeon and Pokémon Ranger is awesome too, but you can’t beat the classic formula.
