Very prominently there are flowers and butterflies in the Water Tribe, when Jon Gi told his daughter about Yona´s coronation.

Then the scene cuts to the Earth Tribe, where Geuntae´s son and his wife are sitting. The small baby is playing with a butterfly.

Geuntae himself, who is in a similar situation to Soo Won and has not yet determined his successor - in contrast to the king, wonders about King Soo Won´s intentions.

I just wondered, if these pictures could point to a possible reappearance of the hairpin or if it will - at least - being mentioned?

Because...look at the design of the hairpin: Butterfly on flowers. (Butterflies signify change and development in the literal sense).

And now look at the design of the king´s robe (If you know the traditional term for this piece of clothing, I am all ears).

The pattern on the robe of the monarch has a striking resemblance to the hairpin.

There is a certain chance, that the amount of "flowers" on the king´s robe might alos signify the "known" number of kings.

On Zeno´s robe (this time it was more the high priest´s robe, than the king´s, demonstrating how high the highpriest´s position used to be.) there were only two "flowers" - for King Hiryuu and his son Yakshi on Zeno´s robe.

Ooh...now this is a bit of intrigue. It's started cropping up here and there around Soo-Won's story. Here talking about a shrine to King Hiryuu back at the main castle. King Il was on the side of Kouka who still kept to the old legend and would frequently pray there. He'd let Yona go play in the shrine to her heart's content, but quickly moved to stop Soo-Won from entering.

But she got nothing from her father's side. It wouldn't have been surprising if some loudmouths started questioning Kashi's fidelity and Yona's legitimacy as a member of the royal family, and I can imagine the gossip getting louder once Il was chosen as the next king, since it would've put Yona as the next in line for the throne, which wouldn't please a lot of people.

This little detail would've also added more depth to the spoiled Yona of chapter 1. Her dislike for her hair wouldn't just be because of its unusual color and unruly nature, but also because of all the stigma it caused her as a child, from being labeled a bastard child to hearing whispers of her mother being a whore and her father being "so weak and boring that even his wife cheated on him"

I can also see this as another reason to why Yuhon would want to kill Kashi. On top of him disliking her for being a religious person, he'd absolutely not tolerate her humiliating his brother. And since he doesn't believe in the Crimson dragon King, he'd definitely not buy "Yona being his reincarnation" as an explanation to her red hair.

He was fanatic about the gods and Hiryuu to the point he thought everyone is just as obsessed as he is, accusing Yu-hon and Soo-won of secretly desiring Hiryuu, while all they did was hate him.

He resented and mistreated Soo-won ever since he was an innocent child, because of the conflict he had with Yu-hon, making the poor boy doubt his worth.

He made his wife a miserable, disheveled-looking shadow of a person sentencing her to years of loneliness and emotional emptiness. To think that he pathetically confessed to YON-HI in that letter that he in fact loved Kashi. Too bad she didn’t know that while all she felt was being an instrument of bringing red-haired dragon Yona to life.

He killed his own brother with a stab to the back, no matter what, it is such a low, cowardly way of doing it.

Despite Yon-hi’s pleadings of making things right between him and Soo-won to avoid tragedy and bloodshed, Il did everything to make it happen nonetheless. As if on purpose.

He knew what awaits Yona and what kind of role she has and did nothing but overprotect her, leaving her oblivious to what’s happening around, uneducated, incapable of doing anything herself and miserable in her loneliness.

He was a king that gave away lands to foreign countries and did nothing to help his anguished people or solve their countless problems.

It may result that he was doing it to fulfill or to avoid fulfilling the prophecy or something like that. That does not change his whole persona though, he was disgusting.
