Synopsis: what was supposed to be a nice day somehow turns out messy.
Today was supposed to be a good day. The sun was shining, there was no wind to mess up my hair, and I was going to meet my boyfriend and his teammates for hotpot tonight.
Everything was going great-until my group partner cancelled our meeting at the last minute. Again. Who does he think he is, for real?
Seeing the notification on my phone, I decided to order another coffee and work on another subject since it still wasn’t time to go.
When the clock hit 7:45 p.m., I grabbed my bag and finally headed to the restaurant. Asahi was already there, so I sat down beside him.
Before he could say anything, I grabbed his arm and started complaining.
“Babe, I’m going crazy. I have to do a group project with someone, but this jerk keeps cancelling our meetings. I swear to God, if he doesn’t show up next time, I’ll kick his flat ass,” I said, frowning.
He chuckled softly before glancing at me.
“You should calm down. Maybe something urgent came up for him?”
“It’s the fourth time in two weeks! Even the most unlucky person wouldn’t cancel that many times. Does he think he can just ditch me like that?” My grip on Asahi’s arm tightened.
As I was fully immersed in my hateful thoughts toward my partner, I heard my name being called and snapped out of it.
“Y/n, I think your grip on Asahi’s arm is a bit too strong…”
“Huh...? What do you mean?” I mumbled, turning my head to see Asahi smiling awkwardly.
“Oh…” I slowly let go of his arm. “I’m sorry…”
He looked at me with gentle eyes and patted my head.
“It’s fine. Just don’t do it again, please-I really need both arms to play volleyball,” he teased, making me blush.
We soon started eating. The smell of the food was comforting, and watching Asahi cook some meat and feed me with his chopsticks made me so happy.
As we were about to leave, I spotted the guy who had ditched me-standing outside the restaurant with a girl. I couldn’t control myself. I let go of Asahi’s hand, stormed outside, and grabbed the guy by his shirt.
“Bitch. Did you seriously skip our meeting to see a girl?” My hands were gripping his shirt so tightly that my knuckles turned white.
“So what? If you’re unhappy about it, do it yourself,” he said with a grin.
His smug smile got me so angry, but before I could do anything, Asahi grabbed me by the shoulders, pulling me back.
“Babe, don’t do anything stupid. He’s not worth it.”
I sighed and nodded, letting Asahi drag me away-until I heard the guy mutter something nasty about him.
That was it. I turned back and punched him. What was supposed to be a single hit quickly turned into a full-on fight between us.
After a while, Asahi’s teammates managed to separate us, and Asahi dragged me back to his place with a firm grip.
I knew he was probably angry that I’d fought the guy since he was such a calm person, but how could I just let someone disrespect him like that?
When we finally got to his house, we went upstairs to his room. He made me sit on his bed and grabbed the first aid kit.
He treated my wounds in silence while I let out small whines of pain under his touch.
“Stop whining. You deserve it for fighting.”
“But he was being an asshole!”
“And? Do you think fighting will make him stop being one?”
“No, but at least I gave him a piece of my mind.”
He sighed softly, setting the kit aside. Then he came back in front of me and held my face so I’d look at him.
“We’ve talked about this... I don’t like it when you fight, so please, don’t do it again.”
I groaned a little before answering.
“Fine... I’ll try... But-”
Before I could finish, he kissed me quickly on the lips.
Before I could protest, he showered me with kisses, making me forget whatever argument I was about to make.
