Love Generation is a reality show from the cable channel Qwiny (Original Program). It was planned by PD Lee Yong Ryeol.

Kim So Eun appeared in the first season that starts this new segment that was aired every Friday on 8.30 p.m.

Each season has 4 episodes (30 minutes in duration), hers started from 8th July 2005 and ended on 29th July 2005.

According to Game Chosun, the MCs of this show are Chun Myung Hoon from Idol Group NRG and VJ (Video Jockey) Kim Na Young. Filming was completed the week before at Lotte World and Yangji Park in Seongnam City

The introduction of the show itself describes the show as a thrilling dating simulation game show, where a survival love game between 30 male students over a single QueenKa took place (QueenKa: a pretty and popular girl).

As written on Game Donga, through this show, Kim So Eun will find her ideal type from among 30 male students through five rounds of games. These include:

"Man to Man," which involves a 10-second speech and first impressions;

"Haha Stage," which assesses dancing ability; and

"Love Telepathy," where the contestants try to guess Kim So-eun's favorite type.

The show will also feature a hidden camera session called "Show Me Your True Self," which explores the male students' personalities, and "This Time is for Forever," where the contestants go on a brief date with the female protagonist to confirm their feelings for each other.

The most detailed explanation on what exactly happened came from this very valid criticism of the program by a reporter from Yonhap News posted on Sports HanKook.

For the critique, it includes promoting lookism(especially for teenagers) and overall the show's questionable concept. I recommed reading it for a more detailed insight.

As for the ending of the show, Kim So Eun eventually chose a male student who's not handsome but has a pure heart, although she was said to have wanted a tall guy who resembled actor Won Bin (according to producers).

As seen on the website, every 'QueenKa' seems to have a Daum Planet tagged, which was a weird decision considering Cyworld was likely more popular at this time.

Kim Namji (an ulzzang and another 'QueenKa') promoted her Daum Planet account in her Daum Cafe while mentioning Love Generation. There is likely some sort of agreement between Qwiny and Daum Planet.

According to this Daum Cafe post, filming was apparently done on the two weekends after 20th June 2005. If that sounds confusing, that just means 25-26th June 2005 and 2-3rd July 2005.

Weekend filming was done to accomodate the students which was the main cast of this show.

They probably shot the first part in Yangji Park and the second one is Lotte World.

Qwiny is cable channel which has been closed down since 2007 (partially due to ARS Quiz fraud). It was under OnMedia which was Orion Group's holdings company in the media sector.

It was acquired by CJ Group on December 2009 and eventually merged into CJ E&M along with few other subsidiaries.
