A yukata is a summer kimono, made in cotton and easy to care for - just pop it in the washer (gentle cycle). Japanese women wear them to summer festivals and close them using a colorful contrasting colored obi.  Dramatic design of rolling, cresting waves in blue on white. The design lines look like they were done with heavy brushstrokes, but it is printed, not painted. Still, you can almost hear the splash and see the movement of the water. There's a small kanji character (perhaps a stylized writing of "moon"?) that appears here and there among the waves.
