In All Systems Red, Martha Wells (or Murderbot if we are being Watsonian) refers to kilometers as:
Kilos
It uses this FIVE (5) times (each time for distance)
Now, the more usual (some might say correct) use is kilo=weight (or mass to be pedantic) rather than distance—but kilo does feature in the OED as an abbreviation for kilometre (yes kilometre, this is the Oxford English Dictionary)
I did check, and there are no uses of kilo at all in Artificial Condition, Rogue Protocol, Exit Strategy or Fugitive Telemetry
In Network Effect (1) and System Collapse (2) there are no kilos, instead kilometer is used, in full
