"Roads? Where we're going we don't need ro.." SLAM! Suddenly the car jumped as something slammed into the back of it.
"Come on! Let's move it! You're holding up traffic here!" Killpond said out of the driver side window of the taco truck as Enrique jumped awake in the passenger seat as he blinked trying to figure out what was going on.
"Who drives a DeLorean anymore?" Killpond was still ranting as an old man climbed out of the car they just slammed into.
"Si?" Enrique said still waking up.
"Oh I don't know, they were stopped right in the middle of this random urban street." Killpond said as he started to get out of the truck, "That guy kind of looks like..." He trailed off slamming the driver side door as Enrique followed suit and climbed out of the passenger side.
"Can you not watch where you are going?" The old man said, steaming at Killpond.
"Can you not just stop in the middle of the road?" The masked man retorted.
"Great Scott!" The man said looking at the back of his vehicle, that had quite a bit of damage done to it.
"I know. How am I going to get this taco truck to the food court on time now?" Killpond said shrugging.
"Not that you idiot! You damaged the reactor." The old man dramatically ran his fingers up and over his wild white hair.
"I'm sure your insurance can cover that. What about my taco truck?" The masked mercenary questioned.
"Insurance... yeah about that. This isn't exactly a machine you can put car insurance on." The man looked a little worried.
"No insurance?" Killpond looked over at Enrique as his latino friend shrugged. As they didn't have the taco truck insured either. Then he looked the old man over once again, "You know you remind me of someone." As the old man looked a little stunned and shook his head.
"Alright. What's it going to take to get us both moving along?"
"You're him aren't you. The time traveling doctor guy." Killpond said ignoring the man's question.
"I think you might have me mixed up with someone else." The scientist said.
"No. I'm sure of it. I mean the car, that wild hair, those silver shades... only thing missing is.." At that moment a kid got out of the passenger seat to see what all was going on as Killpond squeed in excitement. "A kid sidekick! I knew it. You are them."
"Alright fine. We are them... what do you want?" The old man said finally giving in.
Killpond looked at the man, then the kid, then at the car, then at the taco truck, then at Enrique who was shaking his head no as he knew what his masked friend was thinking.
"Well, Doc. I think we can work something out." His mask shifted as he grinned mischievously underneath.
*******************************************************
It took some time but finally Killpond was once again seated in the driver seat of the taco truck, waving out the window at the scientist and his kid sidekick, standing next to their newly fixed car. He turned the ignition key as the taco truck hummed to life, sounding a bit louder than it had before.
"Si?" Enrique asked, now a bit worried as to what was done to his truck.
"Just added a few modifications." Killpond said casually.
"Si?!" The latino said starting to get heated.
"Don't worry. I paid for it out of my mercenary fund. You know I still do that right?" The masked man said calmly.
"Si..." Enrique said, kind of defeated as he sat back in his seat.
"Now buckle up. Once this baby gets up to eighty eight miles per hour. You're going to see some serious shit." Killpond grinned through his mask once more as Enrique quickly made sure he was securely buckled.
"That guy's a little weird." The kid said standing next to the scientist.
"I hope he remembers what I said about how often the reactor needs to be refueled." The scientist shrugged.
Suddenly the taco truck lifted off the ground, it's tires folding underneath as Killpond hit the gas and it took off up into the sky. The newly added nuclear reactor jutting out the back as they climbed and electricity started flowing all around the truck. Killpond looked out the driver side window at the camera.
"The adventures of Killpond and Enrique coming soon..."
"Si?!" Enrique interrupted.
"Don't worry." Killpond said looking at Enrique, then looking at the camera once again, "We'll be back in time." He winked as the taco truck flew off and vanished, leaving two fire trails in the sky.
