          my eyes dart quickly to the familiar touch of the hand that settles upon my own. the familiar warmth gives my muscles permission to relax, unaware of the tension until this exact moment. i could always count on her to provide comfort where there was none. all it takes is a touch... a look, to bring me back to the present tense. a smile tugs at the corners of my mouth as i meet her gaze. her beauty always seems to render me speechless, knowing that all of the adjectives in the world can’t do her justice. 

          “ thank you...” in the moment, i'm not exactly sure what i'm thanking her for. for being here? for not leaving me like everyone else? my hand shifts slightly, welcoming her fingers to intertwine with mine. i wasn’t raised to show affection, it seems like another language to me.

elliot alderson & angela moss

falls asleep on the couch: elliot, he doesn’t sleep much and sometimes he ends up crashing on the couch so he doesn’t wake angela up.

makes friends with the neighbors: angela, it’s easier for her than it is for elliot to talk to new people. 

is the adventurous eater: angela, elliot would be content eating the same thing as long as he doesn’t have to cook. if it wasn’t for her, that’s exactly what he would do.

hogs the covers at night: angela, but elliot doesn’t mind. 

forgets to do the dishes: angela, sometimes when he gets into his moods he likes to clean up. it calms him. there’s hardly ever any dirty dishes in their apartment. angela does most of the cooking anyways and elliot likes to help out whenever he can.

tries to surprise their partner more often: elliot, he knows he can be distant sometimes, so he likes to show angela how much he appreciates her. 

leaves dirty laundry on the floor: elliot, he’s a guy, what can you do?

stays up til 2 AM reading: angela, elliot has never been much of a book reader. 

sings in the shower: angela, it’s more like humming, but close enough.

takes the selfies: angela, although they don’t take many at all.

        “ thanks.” i’ve never been much of a tea person, but i don’t want to hurt her feelings. she’s trying.. i should at least make an effort too. my eyes scan the room to see if anyone’s watching. sometimes i get the feeling someone’s watching my every move.. but i can’t seem to pick them out of the crowd. 

         i did it again.. my mind wanders uncontrollably sometimes. at least it wasn’t him invading my thoughts. a ghost without a shell. blinking through the confusion, i meet her gaze once again. “ i should get back to work.” it’s not my intention to shut her out, it’s just... happening. some things i can’t discuss with her. it’s not my choice. ‘ i don’t have many choices these days. ‘

         angela had always been there for me. a permanent fixture in my life, since we were kids. she’s seen it all... well, almost. i try not to keep things from her. she’s one of the strongest people i know. it’s strange that she’s the one asking for my assistance.. what could i do? i want to make her feel better, but do i know how? i can’t think like that, especially when she needs me. it’s been rough for her lately.. for all of us. i nodded slightly, a look of concern still shielding my face.

        “of course.” it practically came out as a whisper. my eyes scan every inch of her face as i look for hint as to what she might be thinking. her thoughts seem unreachable to me, so i add “hey.. it’ll be okay.”
