I NEED A KIDNEY...You have no idea how long I struggled sharing this news. A year ago, I took myself to the ER after weeks of feeling horrible. With blood pressure of something like 262/197, I was not doing well to say the least. I ended up in ICU for a few days and a couple of weeks in the hospital. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Renal (Kidney) failure. I started dialysis immediately. This was a low point, felt my body fail more and more everyday. If it wasn't for the hope and comfort that the Living Word of God brings, the love of my wife, support of my family, close friends and doctors, I would not be here :). I ended up taking several months off of work. It took a toll on my body. Spent several months in physical and recreational therapy to relearn how to walk and function again. The good news is that I have regained most of my motor skills again. In January 2020, I moved from doing dialysis at a center, 3 times a week, 4-5 hours a day to doing home dialysis on a nightly basis. This has been life changing and I was able to return to a normal-ish life. Today, I get to enjoy life with my wonderful wife and children with slight modifications. Where do I stand now: After lengthy and exhaustive tests, I finally made it unto the kidney waiting list at Vanderbilt University. Now I am eligible to receive a kidney transplant from a living donor or other means. The truth is I do need a kidney transplant, dialysis only does so much :/ If you know of anyone that might be interested in saving a life by "sharing a spare", please share the following links.
