Hey, thank you for your reply. I meant zeenunew in ep7. ❤️❤️❤️🥹🥹🥹🥹
Hey!
Thanks again for the ask. I figured it was about the ZeeNunew scene, but I wasn't really sure what type of analysis you were looking for about it. That said, I can share the things I noticed.
In full transparency, I only watched the NC scene one time prior to this ask. But one thing that stood out to me in the scene is the use of silence at key parts/transitions.
Basically, when one or both of the characters is making a key decision or "move", then the music completely cuts out. Sometimes it picks back up where it left off. Sometimes it shifts to a different tempo or even entirely different melody afterwards. That depends on where we are in the progression of the scene. But the key moments are found in silence.
If you want to keep track, here are your "moments of silence" where the sound is basically honoring the sincerity and seriousness of the moment for their relationship.
Silence #1 - The NC sequence starts in silence when Khanin propositions to Charan. This is a big move. He's asking for more. This is key considering how often Khanin commands. The music starts as we get a good look at Charan's face and him choosing not to break out of Khanin's grasp. He's choosing to stay.
Silence #2 - When Khanin stops guiding Charan's hand. It's another moment that he's putting the decision back into Charan's court. The music starts again right after this line.
Charan once again choosing not to break out of Khanin's grasp. We all know he could and would if he wanted to do so.
Silence #3 - Khanin gets up to be about even with Charan and says "it's you and me". Then the silence happens. As Charan weighs his decisions yet again, and he chooses to believe in Khanin's version of reality.
He is choosing to focus on just them and not the world of politics that surrounds them. Music starts and shifts significantly in tone once they start kissing.
Silence #4 - "Do you remember the tale of the Emmalian Kiss?" This time it's Charan putting the decision back onto Khanin. The music fades after the question and just before Khanin responds.
He knows what he is committing to by kissing Charan. He knows what a kiss means in Emmaly. And he's choosing to kiss Charan.
Silence #5 - The foot kiss. The music cuts out right before and picks up again right afterwards. I didn't see this kiss quite the same way as other people so you are better off probably reading their takes. But the silence tells us...it's a big deal.
Silence #6 - The music had already started to downshift into just steady beats as soon as Khanin touches Charan more intimately, but the music cuts out completely as soon as Khanin starts to pull Charan's pants down, shifts back on the bed, and puts his foot in place. When he finally starts pushing the pants down with his foot, the music cuts back in.
How many times have we seen a character put a stop to the action when it got time to remove the pants? A lot. So this was really a place that Charan could have had reality slam him in the face about what they were getting ready to do. He let Khanin take his pants off anyways.
Silence #7 - There's a beat of silence before the music shifts as we get Charan kissing and laying Khanin back on the bed. They've both stopped thinking about it too much, and they're focusing on each other and "the fairy tale" (according to the lyrics).
Silence #8 - Just like with Charan's pants, the removal of Khanin's pants gets a moment of silence too. Just like with Charan's, the music cuts out prior and then picks back up as the pants are removed.
Silence #9 - The final moment of silence is after Khanin covers himself. Whether it's reality hitting him or shyness, the decision is back in Charan's court. There's silence as Charan takes initiative to remove the blanket and begins kissing Khanin again. He has made his decision, and he wasn't commanded to do it.
No backing down, no covering up, no asking permission at this point. They are past that.

While I’m on the topic of ukes (a subject I’m no expert on so correct me if I’m mixed up) … by definition of what’s happened thus far in The Next Prince, Khanin is the seme in this story, right?
Most hashtags have Charan first but I guess that’s because he’s more masculine or taller or whatever, right? Or because of ZeeNunew’s ship name order? No one could claim he is the pursuer in any way?
Nunew and Zee are still bringing it. The chemistry is wild. Also their characters are cracking me up. "Unc unc" and "Tue tue" I'm dying over here 😂
