You and Tai Lung had grown up together under Master Shifu’s training.

While the other students struggled to keep up, the two of you moved like lightning across the training grounds.

“Too slow!” Tai Lung teased one day, leaping over your sweeping kick.

“Oh please,” you shot back, tail flicking. “You only won because you cheat.”

“I don’t cheat.”

“You literally climbed the wall!”

Tai Lung grinned — that confident, cocky grin that always made your heart race.

“You didn’t say I couldn’t.”

You lunged at him again, both of you tumbling into the snow in a laughing mess.

For a moment… there was no Dragon Warrior prophecy.

No pressure.

Just the two of you.

The Night Everything Changed

When Oogway refused to name Tai Lung the Dragon Warrior… you were there.

You saw the moment his pride shattered.

“Tai Lung, wait—” you tried to reach him.

But his eyes had changed.

“After everything I’ve done,” he growled, claws digging into the stone, “they say I’m not worthy.”

“Tai Lung—”

“They’re wrong.”

You grabbed his arm.

“Please… don’t do this.”

For a brief second… he hesitated.

His voice dropped softer.

“Come with me.”

Your heart stopped.

“We could take the scroll,” he whispered. “Together.”

You stepped back.

And that was the moment everything broke.

Present Day

Snow crunched behind you.

You turned.

Standing at the palace entrance was a familiar striped figure.

“Still thinking about him?” asked Tigress.

You didn’t answer.

Because the truth was simple.

You never stopped.

Somewhere out there… the leopard who used to laugh with you in the snow still existed.

Didn’t he?

Somewhere in the Mountains…

Chains rattled softly in the darkness of Chorh-Gom Prison.

Tai Lung stared out through the bars at the falling snow.

And for the first time in years…

He remembered you.

this takes place after the final fight but before the ending scene, while they travel back to the Valley of Peace. Tigress definitely got some long term injuries from the canon.

dialogue:

Tigress: "Po."

Po: "Yeah?"

Tigress: "I'll be fine."

Po: "But."

Tigress: "Po."

Po: "Ok."

SO, i really wanted to play with the idea of how these two were RIGHT after KFP 2 along with Tigress' injuries. just doodles- then i decided to make it a comic but clean it up so this is just wip if anything hehe- so i cant say much of whats happening here

these are my HC ages for them! Tigress would 26 and Po would be 24 in KFP 1. KFP 3 ages will be brought up in the later close ups! I just dont think Po is in his teens or even younger than 20. Them, and the rest of Furious Five feel like they're in their 20s, past mid-20s at least.

ANYWAYS, you know those storyboards from KFP 3, with Po and Tigress at the panda village? yeah, that's what the rewrite and this scene is based on. honestly really happy with the rough rendering on this sketch hehe

i only bring this one back up for the ages that i mentioned. my headcanon is that Po's 30 and Tigress is 32 by KFP 3. they just give off those vibes. that's it.
