As I sit here trying to decompress after an exhausting, LONG and trying day I have to remind myself of how I felt this morning. I was enjoying a warm cup of coffee replaying the events from the day before. Fighting back a kool-aid smile as I tried to play it cool. I felt rejuvenated and alive. As if wasn't 5a & all my dreams already came true. Maybe I was still dreaming but I honestly felt like a million bucks. My soul was legit giddy. The day began and one thing after the other began to unravel and fall apart. I Put my head down and just went to work addressing all issues. Then the most trying of them all. A difficult situation where I AGAIN sat their (alone) and dealt with an abusive individual who felt the need to patronize and condescend. I met the limit of my patience and danced with the thought of throwing in the towel and completely loosing my cool & job. As my ears burned and my hands shook from the adrenaline and every single emotion running thru my body I thought I will get thru this with my dignity held high! Minutes later as I was able to process the madness I coached myself and reminded myself CHIN UP. My soul was content with the attempts I made in assisting this individual and my conscious was clean. I did my job to the best of my ability and I wasn't going to have anyone tell me otherwise. I was proud of myself for how far I've come as an individual, a woman and professional. I had more cojones than everyone else including my superiors and those with higher education. ME✋🏽 this chick right here. I am SO freakin proud of myself not because I didn't reach over my desk and completely lose my cool but because I proved to myself and others that I am a good manager, good business woman and I hold the keys to my own success. I am much more powerful than I give myself credit for.
