So this is for the people who think that being ‘mentally, emotionally, and financially ready to have a child’ is just Western/American capitalist propaganda (yeah, I heard it called that today): do you actually think it’s a good idea that a person/couple chooses to have a child knowing that it’ll be born into poverty or have a parent who can hardly look after themselves most of the time or otherwise has overwhelming mental health problems/issues related to their neurodivergency or have you just internalised this idea that everyone is entitled to children because they want a child? Like I don’t understand how you think that everyone should just bring a child into this world because that’s what they want and not give the slightest shit about if parents are going to be able to feed and look after the kid.
