Locke & Key: Complete* List of Keys
Anywhere key - (skeleton key) any door will take you anywhere you want to go, but you have to have been there before or know what the place looks like
Well house key - can create an Echo of someone who has died to communicate with them, but they cannot leave the well house (unless they have the anywhere key)
Mirror key - put it in the door and mirrors have a creepy smiling version of you that tries to lure you in, and if you go through the mirror you get trapped in the mirror dimension (Why do we even have this key?)
Head key - go into your own / someone else’s mind, can create whatever you want; looks different for every person; can access that person’s memories
Mind control key - the key to a music box, when the box is open and the music is playing the person who put the key in the box can tell anyone to do something and they are compelled to do it; the person does not appear to need to be within hearing distance
?Ghost key - when put into a person’s skin allows that person to astral project: leaves their body “dead” on the ground and they can fly around like a ghost and speak to ghosts of the dead; cannot travel beyond key house property
?Plants key - controls growth of vines, can be used to hide or bury people or things, based on user’s wishes
Identity key - allows you to change your body/features/voice to create a new identity, cannot become a clone of a real person (excluding demons)
Fire key - sets shit on fire, any shit, all shit, big fire
Mending key - any object locked inside a cabinet using this key gets fixed/mended; can’t bring back the dead
Omega key - opens “The Black Door” with glowy blue lights in the flood caves which opens into another world which shoots bullets that can turn you into a demon or that turn into rocks that can make new magic keys
Shadow crown key - when placed into the silver shadow crown, lets a person control shadow monsters that have super strength and can murder people; monsters disappear when exposed to any kind of light
Hercules key - attaches to a belt and makes the wearer super strong, a favorite of Bode’s
Small world key - when turned into the lock of a replica of key house, you can see anything going on inside key house, and anything done in the dollhouse happens in the real house; objects broken in the dollhouse break in real life, objects inserted or removed from the doll house appear or disappear from the real house to dollhouse scale, i.e. huge spider or gummy bear
Memory key - made by Uncle Dunc, when pressed into someone’s skin, creates a brand that allows adults (humans around the age of 18+) to remember key related magic instead of immediately forgetting shortly after they experience and/or remember it
Chain key - goes to a lock that can summon chains to wrap and capture a human or demon; allows the lock holder to drag their captive about and enables them to tighten the chains as desired to better secure their captive
Demonic minion key - made by Uncle Dunc on Dodge’s orders, when inserted into a human, turns them into a demon who must obey the key holder’s commands (or make every effort to do so) and seem to have rapid healing abilities; Duncan’s commands override the key holder’s
Wing key - key attached to a harness, lets the wearer sprout angel wings and fly
Alpha key - made by Tyler, when inserted into a human possessed by a demon, turns them back into their human self, but then they die
Animal key - transforms the user into an animal, seems like the user still has their human brain powers, unclear if you get to pick which animal or it’s based on personality
Snow globe key - turn the key and get transported into a version of Key House trapped within a snow globe, where it’s always snowing; a great place to ensnare your enemies and younger siblings; appears you can’t die inside it, if you consider that an upside
?Time shift key - used to activate a grandfather clock, this key allows the user (and guest) to travel to a seemingly randomly chosen other time in the same location; they are then able to stay for a short while before being transported back home; the times appear to be represented by a series of Roman numerals which switch themselves up between trips, and can presumably be adjusted and controlled; i.e, the user is able to control the span of time they spend away before they return to their own time; if someone from another time leaves their traveled to time with original key user to go to the present, they only have a certain amount of time they can stay before being returned back, but it’s not necessarily equal to the amount of time the key user was gone; god, this key is complicated
Harlequin chest key - opens an indestructible magic chest which is ideal for hiding things like other key and can only be accessed using its key or magic
Creation key - (Caliban key) makes sketches and drawings become real and/or come to life; seems to take into account the intent of the artist more than the skill and accuracy of the drawing; if something comes to life it is not automatically under the control of the artist but can do it’s own thing
