kevin was drained. this was the longest he actually kept a job. by that point, he was usually long fired, possibly even fired from another job already. and yet there he was, still showing up to the smoke shop almost every afternoon (and sometimes even mornings).the money was decent. enough to keep him from asking landon to help support his habit. over the holidays, being the 'fresh meat' of the crew he was almost designated to put in a few extra hours each day. the only reason he agreed and didn't quit on the spot was because he had been saving up to buy his fiance a christmas present. it was the first holiday they were together that he actually had a steady source of income, and he wanted to get something special.
his only problem was he would have to wait to get the gift until after christmas. his paycheck would go into his account the twenty-sixth, meaning he had to go out and bump elbows the other shoppers taking advantaged of the after-holiday sales. which he did. he walked out of the store with a few scratches, but managed to successfully get the gift. he even grabbed a few extra things he saw on sale he thought the other would like. landon was working that morning, so thankfully he had enough time to wrap the presents up -rather poorly- and set them under their tree. while he waited, he played with the pups in the living room.
