Waiting. That’s all it was. The single, most undemanding task someone could do, and the Ultimate Yakuza felt tortured by the slow ticking of time and the unbending silence that followed.
Izu-no, Hajime said that it wasn’t long before their friend would wake-up and for a while this was true. One by one- Neko, Hiyoko, Gundham- everyone woke up to be greeted with smiles and tears and leave the pods with the hope of building the future together, make amends with the world. They got their happy endings.
So, goddammit, why wasn’t she waking up?
He sat next to Peko’s pod, head down and hands together as he occupied himself with the riveting game called thumb twiddling. The right side of his face was numb with pain. But it went unnoticed. He would wait for her, as long as it took if it meant he could hear her voice-- hell, even if it was just to scold him again.
Without realizing it, Fuyuhiko had reached out and placed his hand on the glass, right over where Peko’s would be if the glass wasn’t in the way.
“Please... if you hear my voice, you can even call me a damn kid if you just wake up,” He grits his teeth. “Dammit, I- I need you.”
