Thats…a good question. The thing with Ken is he grew up pretty isolated, rural, in an area that leans conservative. The first time he heard the term “lesbian” had good likelihood to be an insult making fun of him for being a “tomboy”, etc. His uncle wasn’t hateful but also didn’t care about any of that stuff, and was equally as uninformed. I think even after he became a little more worldly he still lacked a lot of the vocabulary to be able to dig into it and frankly wasn’t encouraged to be thoughtful like that. What little he DID have, especially what inspired him to transition, probably came from the more forward thinking N/PCs in our previous Hunters game setting an example. And then as a Ravnos well — vampires have always been queer coded. Elaine is EXTREMELY worldly and introduces him to the history and culture more completely. Cute because she’s also a baby gay when they first meet.

Even now I don’t think he’d be able to wrap it up nice and simple (i relate lol). It’s always been a part of him, kind of like asking why his eyes are brown. He’s also a snide little shit that loves to get on peoples nerves, so any negativity/confusion thrown his way honestly delights him.
