You should start simple and small and with that I mean a hearth or household altar.

Start small, worship only those who are actively taking part in your life like Hestia representing your home or the Lares protecting your property or Renenutet who ensures you get food.

There's so many deities out there that protect you and ensure you're safe and sound, honour them in small ways before you risk getting a burnout from overdoing yourself.

The Netjeru were worshipped by farmers, laborers, artisans, soldiers, SLAVES. They worshipped in their small homes, they received small offerings, prayers and hymns. Yes, many rich people were offerings gold, precious jewelry and big feasts, but that was not the majority, nor were they more loved by the gods.

Give them what you can, be it handmade, be it simple and humble, be it expensive and plentiful.

I set up a small altar for Bast today!! It’s, again, small, but I feel very happy about it. I’ve been wanting to worship Her for a while and I finally felt ready to today.

I was debating whether or not to put it up, but whilst I was in the middle of thinking, I got a text from my friend saying she was at a cat shelter. She sent me a photo of a kitten and asked if I wanted to take it home since her mum wouldn’t let her. And then not long after, my mum messages me asking how the cats are. So yeah. That kinda helped my decision, but I’m happy with the one I chose.
