Kefalonia is the kind of Greek island you could spend a week exploring and still not see everything 🇬🇷

From tiny harbour villages and turquoise beaches to underground lakes and mountain roads, there’s a lot more to the island than just a pretty coastline.

📍 Assos – One of Kefalonia’s most beautiful villages, with colourful houses wrapped around a tiny turquoise bay. Walk up towards the Venetian castle for incredible views over the Ionian Sea.

📍 Melissani Cave – Take a boat through this spectacular underground lake, where sunlight filters through the open roof and turns the water an incredible shade of blue.

📍 Myrtos Beach – The famous one for a reason. Stop at the viewpoint above the beach before heading down to swim in the bright turquoise water.

📍 Fiskardo – Spend an afternoon wandering the waterfront, browsing the little boutiques and stopping for lunch overlooking the harbour.

📍 Petani Beach – Head west for dramatic cliffs, crystal-clear water and a quieter alternative to some of Kefalonia’s more famous beaches.

Save this for your Kefalonia trip (and definitely hire a car!). The best parts of the island are spread out and the drives between them are half the fun 🚗
