A Celebration of the Life of the Rev. Jesse Jackson: A Legacy of Hope
The world recently gathered in Chicago to bid a final farewell to the Reverend Jesse Lewis Jackson Sr., a man whose life was a testament to the power of resilience and the audacity of hope. From the grand “People’s Celebration” at the House of Hope to an intimate private service at the Rainbow PUSH headquarters, the services were not merely a mourning of a loss but a profound tribute to a…

Peaceful transitions @revjjackson
Have y'all also been deep in your feelings all day - especially those of us who grew up reciting and believing "I AM SOMEBODY" because of Rev. Jackson?
His powerful oratory skills, inclusive, unifying coalition-building and deep faith that this country can and will be better are just parts of the legacy and blueprint he's left us.
He delivered this iconic speech at the 1988 Democratic National Convention after a second failed presidential run. He refused to let defeat deter him. May we never forget and always emulate his example. Although it is HELLA hard in this moment, we gotta find a way to "Keep Hope Alive" as Rev. Jackson taught us. 🎥 reposted from @cnn
✍️🏾 reposted from @ebonymagazine Reverend Jesse Louis Jackson Sr. lived a life rooted in faith, protest and possibility. A Baptist minister who stepped into the movement at a young age, he spent decades organizing, marching, negotiating and challenging systems that were never built with us in mind.
He helped expand the political imagination for Black America, pushing for voting rights, economic opportunity and representation in rooms where decisions are made. Through his leadership of Rainbow PUSH Coalition and his historic presidential campaigns, he reminded the country that our voices belong on every ballot and at every table.
For many, he was Reverend. For others, he was a strategist, a bridge builder, a relentless advocate who believed in the power of collective action. His work stretched across generations, shaping conversations around justice, equity and access in ways that still echo today.
We honor a life of service, conviction and courage. Rest in power, Reverend Jesse Louis Jackson Sr.

Civil rights leader Jesse Jackson dies at 84. The Rainbow PUSH Coalition statement honors his historic legacy and path to the presidency.
The Rev. Jesse Jackson has left us at 84. A protégé of Martin Luther King Jr., architect of the Rainbow Coalition, and a figure whose 1980s presidential runs forced America to confront its pluralism head-on. His life was one of unyielding moral clarity amid complexity—pushing not just for rights, but for recognition of the voiceless everywhere.
In Canada, where we often look southward for lessons in both aspiration and caution, Jackson’s story quietly underscores our own imperfect pursuit of inclusion. What does it mean, in an era of renewed calls for equity, to keep hope alive without simplifying the work ahead?

Gospel Inspiration: Helping others with 'If I can help somebody'
Today, I was reminded of a beautiful old gospel song called “If I Can Help Somebody.” by a post on LinkedIn. A wonderful lady I admire so much is Marcia Dixon. It arrived in my thoughts quietly — yet it spoke loudly to my heart. This song has stayed with me over the years and the post just brought it to me memory. For me, it reflects how I try to live, especially as Confident Queen Genny. I am…

Day 4 – Small Acts of Love Love in the Little Things on Happiness Island On Happiness Island, we remember this gentle truth:love doesn’t have to be big to matter. We often think kindness has to be grand — a big gesture, the perfect words, a dramatic act. But most of the time, love shows up quietly. In a smile. In a message. In simply being there. 💜 A Personal Reflection Some of the moments…
A lot of people are feeling a lot of things, both in the United States and around the world. For now, take extra special care of yourself and allow yourself to feel all the feelings you have. And then, do what you need to do to protect yourself and those whom you love and adore. And keep Hope alive, and keep the Faith.
