If Kat would stuck herself with only making songs about Sam (no matter how much cloud it gives her), then it would make the whole situation look like two kids fighting eo. Personally for Kat good wellbeing I would wish for her to do one song that is a clapback to those fans and then just move on from this topic. i get what you're saying. but personally i have to disagree a bit.

i think it's probably cathartic for her to write about sam, given that she was in an almost decade's long relationship with him. and i assume she will probably write another song about him in the future. i think what needs to change is how the fandom reacts. bc if it really doesn't matter what she has to say, there should be no reaction to her and her music.

let the girl say her peace, even if it's basically the same shit she has said before, and just ignore. i think writing a song about the fans too would be nice, but to say that she shouldn't write about sam bc it's just gonna bring up drama and she's already said everything is a bit silly, given that writing a song about the fandom would also do that.

and like i said in the other ask either way she's gonna get hate bc those that don't like her are going to assume she's writing about sam again or are going to make whatever she puts out about him. she might as well continue to piss them off in the process by actually writing music about him (if she wants to, of course).

Instead of that (because that would just bring her more hate - unfortunately this is the type of people that do not know how to stop) I want her to write a shady song for THEM. A mockery song of Sam hard die stans who defend him left and right without even knowing what they are talking about cause they do not know the dude. Also I feel like the topic has already been milked enough and there’s nothing more to say here. It would be old and boring to write over and over again about the same thing (just with different tune). So instead of another Sam song, I want a song for the fansss. And the MV could also shade them a little (f.e while she is in the building with her bf doing smth, there’s a crowd of people outside who cannot see through. The MV can even mock those fans who claimed „Kat is using Sam for fame, he doesn’t even love her”, so when the two are inside the guy is being sweet and affectionate while they spend f.e Valentines Day tght, but when she goes outside the crowd of people start accusing her of something ridiculous like stealing, breaking in etc. claiming they “saw everything”) - i think it would be PERFECT punch in the face for them, cause when she writes a song shading Sam, it gives them a room to hate and justify it by “we’re just defending Sam”. But if she would throw a fist at them, without shading Sam, it could make them feel lost and uneasy… cause they now cannot justify their hatred for her by simple “we’re defending our idol”, cause Kat is not attacking him (even showing their relationship from positive light too) — I would love to see them reacting to smth like this.

i think the problem is, she's damned if does, damned if she doesn't with how sam fans respond to her every move. regardless of if she's talking about him or not, his fans are going to immediately think it's about him, or make it about him, and thus it doesn't matter what she does.

which is why personally i want her to write another song about him. keep pissing them off lol

while i do agree with you, i also think if she had done this sooner, the hate would be even crazier than it has been. bc katelyn and him broke up in mid july/august, my guess, and if they had done this at the beginning of this year or whatever... it just would have been chaos lol

also i think regardless of when this song would have come out, she still would be getting the hate she's getting ie she needs to move on. like... she did move on. but that doesn't mean you just don't talk about the past ever again. not to mention she was with sam for almost a decade, she's allowed to talk about him two years after the fact.

and tbh i think for the most part he probably wasn't a bad bf, but where he was flawed caused the downfall of the relationship in the end. so that's why this song, and nice of you, are kind of the same. the difference is the mv.
