One character giving the cold shoulder and the other smirking at them because they know they’re doing this for attention. + katerra pls ma'am...
“I’m not speaking to you right now,” Terra stated, head still buried in her inventory paperwork.
Kat smirked, watching her pout into the pink hydrangeas she was inspecting before marking down god-knows-what about them. Kat hadn’t spent enough time watching Terra to know exactly what she was doing in all the hours she locked herself in the greenhouse, but Kat would know soon enough the way she’d come over every day this week.
The specialist made her way through the lab, being careful not to touch the protruding plant appendages that looked too much like poison ivy for her liking. Terra had assured her a million times it was helpful and not harmful, but Kat was still skeptical.
She wrapped her arms around the cute earth fairy when she got to her, but Terra shrugged her off. “No.”
Kat sighed, raising her hands in surrender. “Baby, I’m sorry I wasn’t able to message you before I left. It was confidential and I thought you had that conference in the evening anyway–”
Terra didn’t even look up from the form she was filling out. “I’m trying to work here.”
It was Kat’s turn to huff as she sat down on the stool across from Terra. It was the perfect vantage point to admire her girlfriend. Her wavy hair was pulled off her face in a French braid and a few strands were falling into her face. Kat fought the urge to tuck the hair behind her ears, knowing she’d only get her hand smacked away.
She didn’t mind, though. Terra deserved to be pissed at her. Kat had left in the middle of the night and hadn’t written a note either. Then, she’d gone on an off the grid mission for the whole day and only came back an hour ago. She’d have bolted here immediately, but Silva had forced her to stay for the mandatory debrief.
Now that she was here, though, it was nice to finally be around the girl that made her heart race. Even when Terra was all mad and pouty, Kat knew she loved her and only was reacting this way because she cared.
Terra had missed her. Badly.
“You really missed me, huh?”
“I hate you,” Terra mumbled back, shifting around the potted plants in front of her so she was looking at… peonies? Kat really needed to read up on the plants Terra worked with.
“You love me,” Kat shrugged, grabbing her phone out of her bag and shooting a text. Terra’s phone pinged from the table at the front of the room and Terra walked over.
She picked up her phone and sighed, finally giving up at Kat's apology message. Kat seized the moment and slipped her hands around Terra’s waist. “You’re gonna make up for this, you know that, right?”
Kat pressed a kiss to Terra’s cheek, smiling as it turned rosy. “I already have a list of ways, pretty girl. Just tell me where to start.”
Terra turned around to face Kat, staying in her arms. Her green eyes softened as she finally met Kat’s gaze. “What’s on the list?”
“Well, let’s see,” she looked away, thinking about it. “First, we have kissing you, making out with you, kissing you some more, hugging you. I think I’ll start with the first one.” Terra let out a giggle as Kat went in for a kiss, pecking Terra’s soft lips until she kissed her back and reached a hand up to wrap in her curls.
Kat pulled Terra closer, feeling herself relax into the woman she loved. She had missed the taste of her so much, she hadn’t even realized it.
She pulled away with a content sigh, pressing her forehead into Terra’s.
“I think the first option was a great start, but we should go to your dorm to get to the second one, yeah?” Terra asked coyly.
It was Kat’s turn to laugh. “Yeah, let’s go.”
Terra nodded, already reaching for her bag. “Let’s go.”
