It's funny how the world works...because there was a part of me that really wanted to reach out to you and you know become close again. I talk about my problems, you talk about yours, and we rant to each other until the conversation turns into us joking around about something stupid and irrelevant. I don't even know if you remember those conversations. For that short time (or what seems like a short time to me) that we were close I thought you were a great listener and a great friend. Then life happened and I stopped talking about my problems in general. I thought I was being a burden, but you genuinely wanted to help me and be there for me. I know. That's no excuse. We casually stopped talking to each other. A bigger part of me didn't want our relationship to progress. I wasn't ready and you knew why. I know that was my mistake. I should've followed my intuition and just reached out to you even though it's been years. Now I regret it. I honestly do. If I was just there to listen maybe just maybe I could've prevented this. Maybe all you needed was a friend. Someone to genuinely listen to you. Not just at what you are saying but also what you weren't saying. Someone to notice that behind your smile and laughter was sadness. You were always smiling and I thought you were genuinely happy, but pictures lie and that wasn't the case. It's true when they say that regret is greater than gratitude. Even though it's too late, I want to say THANK YOU! Thank you for everything. I will always remember you with a smile on your face. Condolences to your family and friends. I hope you're in a better place. Rest in paradise.

It didn't take that long to record it.
