A Kate headcanon I really like is since that her zero was really just doing regular teen stuff usually - going shopping, traveling, even dating . But Kate could never focus on it because her mind was split between that and fighting for her life . When all her other clones died, that was the first time that life really felt ārealā and thatās why she let everyone think she was dead . She couldnāt go back for a long time after experiencing it .
The silence that followed those day after her ādeathā were probably very surreal. Finally, she can just feel normal and focus on mundane things without the noise of multiple parts of her being elsewhere.
Mustāve felt weird - like a dream.
She wouldāve happily kept playing dead if not for her brother trying to murder Rex for the love of the game.
I think the Mitski songs I most associate with Kate are Remember My Name and Cop Car
Preybirds by Rabbitology is a good one for Kate. Itās a bit on nose, but it is a song about reoccurring life and death so itās gonna be

Thinking about that Kate mightāve been a deeply depressed person thatās very aware sheās viewed by the government she works for as merely their property but is in denial about it because this is literally the only thing she lives for.
Sheās not nearly as aware of herself as she thinks she is. She swears this life is worth it because itās righteous but still faked her own death just to get away from it. She is willing to put up with unreasonable amounts of pain for the sake of a so-called āgreater goodā.
She went running into the arms of a dilf that speaks for her because this woman has never truly made a decision for herself in her life. Being able to relate to him even just a little bit was enough to give herself to him.
She craves sex because itās one of the only times where she actually feels like a full human being and not a piece of property.

Kate must have one hell of an internal monologue. I imagine she has just as many thoughts as she has clones.. it would be fitting for her character.
