May I ask about Kastastra as a whole ? What exactly is it?
Katastra is a story set in a place that’s extremely secluded from the rest of the countries in Gaia.
It’s in a place called Astra, a ‘country’ of sorts that’s about the size of an average county you’d find in the continental US. It’s pretty much a mostly indoors city on a top-secret, artificial island that also doubles as a submarine, which completely changes its location within Gaia’s oceans about once or twice a month in order to be harder to exactly pinpoint in case people from the other countries want to find it.
It’s passed off as a paradise of sorts, mainly controlled by a corporation called Enneaon Co. There’s two halves of it, constantly trying to one-up one another (and trying to split into their own companies, as shown by their contrasting names and themes) - the black and gold themed Oribus, lead by Zachary Akakios, and the white and green themed Asid, lead by Raine Amira.
Oribus produces something called Psema - a drug in the form of a glittery, almost starry black liquid, often sold in little vials. It’s said to be a miracle cure, helping anything physical, from the common cold and fractured bones, to terminal illnesses and near-fatal wounds. There’s a downside, however -- it burns upon entry into the body, tastes like tar, and has.. other side effects.
Asid produces Khatia - a drug in the form of an iridescent white liquid, sold in similar vials. It can help with improving any overall negative mental issue, from depression to dementia. Despite it tasting sweet and being relatively painless to take, people on it seem to be a bit too happy.. and kind of forceful about making others feel the same.
Overall, it’s fine, right? But why is the entire place such a well-kept secret? Why do even the citizens not know most of what goes on in there? Why are most people so avoidant of taking these drugs if they seem to be the cure to everything? Why are the drugs named after gods that nobody’s even heard of until now? Percival Rowe -- and some others -- is determined to find out! Maybe.
