Sharabafi workshop (silk weaving fabric) in Kashan, Isfahan. IRAN. In the central desert region of Iran, one of the very old handicrafts is the weaving of silk fabric in the traditional way, which is called “sharabafi”. The workshop you see in the pictures is in Kashan, a city in Isfahan province in Iran, where when you set foot, you feel that you have traveled hundreds of years to the past, both in terms of workshop space and equipment, and the old men who work there. The product of this workshop is very delicate and exquisite silk fabrics.
