I watched a lot of musicals last year, and let me tell you..."RIDE THE CYCLONE" IS AWESOME!!!!

Is spending four days on a single piece of art normal? I'm glad I managed to pull it off and actually finish something (I've been struggling with that lately).

Think about it: he’s known the precise moment of his own death from the moment he became sentient, making it unlikely that he would be caught off guard by it mid-sentence. Then, there’s the fact that he ‘trades mostly in prophecies that don’t make sense… until they do!’, and if you look closely at his last words, they do seem to have meaning as opposed to being random:

‘Your lucky number is seven.’: there are seven main characters in the show (six choir members + Karnak himself), the meeting of these seven souls resulted in a miracle for Jane/Penny.

‘You will soar to great heights.’: the literal ‘heights’ of the rollercoaster + the ‘high points’ of life, a reminder that not all of life is misery and loss and that there are good things to come.

‘Be sure to ride the Cyclone.’: a meta-reference to the title of the show but also the show is built on the metaphor of life as a ‘ride’, transient and fleeting and often utterly uncontrollable, but also exciting and vibrant. The entire closing song is called ‘It’s Not A Game, It’s Just A Ride’ for that reason.

Karnak’s final insight, translated from the terms he’s communicated exclusively in for most of his existence, reads something like:

“Our meeting was serendipitous. Remember that there are things to come worth living for. Remember to live.”

So here is a list of there similarities as i remember them

Both have an ending of a girl discovering herself while a group of her friends learn to appreciate life (or lack there off)

They have a similar format of focusing on one characters emotional turmoil in each song/episode

Have an overseeing male figure thats not human and kinda obviously favor one of the rest of the cast

A female main character with a small group of 5 as secondary main characters

Have a bright happy character that feels trapped in that way of presenting herself to others

that ending bit were all the tadc characters learn their names is LITERALLY the rtc format of karnak introducing the cast (a better comparison would be Jane learning her name when she gets to go back to life but still)

Has a very popular gay ship that is heavily implied and has one partner in the relationship who has a non conforming gender (might be a reach with this comparison of noel and zooble)
