Using the term arc is interesting to me, because that could range anywhere from a couple of episodes related to the topic, which I imagine would have been Karmi popping up in certain episodes to create a side narrative of her and Hiro becoming closer/him confronting his feelings for her, to a full blown arc like City Of Monsters, which would entail something like a big villain that requires both Hiro and Karmi's involvement. My two guesses there would have been the return of Di Amara, or a new villain that could have ties to the two heroes, like another biology villain or something. In terms of how I feel the arc would have panned out, whether it was either of these two options, I'm not sure. On the one hand, the episode where Karmi returned is very sweet and simple, and I kind of like that aspect about it. It was very straight forward about the fact that they both moved on from their more bitter rivalry, wanted to be closer, and cleared the air on where their feelings were at. I would have very much liked a follow up episode where they actually breach the subject of their feelings directly, but I am happy that in the end we got something that was very straight forward. So throwing in an arc, I'm worried it would drag it out, or dip into some negative tropes in order to bring in drama and engagement. But I could be absolutely wrong and they do the same thing where it is very straight forward, and their relationship develops without unwanted writing that doesn't add anything. Plus it would be very nice to see these two spend more time being friendly with each other, as I like the aspect of them being friends first before dipping into a relationship. I also won't lie in that I 100% wanna see Karmi's reaction to learning that she's been crushing on the same guy this entire time, because it would be hilarious. There's also the added aspect I wonder if they would have actually made that weird love triangle they introduced into being real. As much as I'm not fond of Megan as a character, it is so bizarre to me that she disappeared in season 3. Along with the fact that the series introduced two characters to be Hiro's love interest, except that's not even what Megan ended up being. It's not like her and Karmi were both on screen together to create conflict, so it wasn't a love triangle. So if an arc had been introduced, I would pray to god above that they weren't going to make the love triangle a real thing, and just pick one path. Like, even if Hiro just went with Megan, sure I would be sad my choice flopped, but I would have preferred it over an entire seasons worth of will they won't they, lmao. As it is, I appreciate the ending with got with Hiro and Karmi, even if I think another episode or two would have helped a lot. An arc would be fun, but given what I've witnessed in so many series I've watched, I have this slight fear of what could have gone wrong too, lol.
