I'd say Karmiro is a pretty good example of what the difference between a canon ship and a canon couple is (because I often see people act like a ship can only be canon once they become a canon couple).
Karmiro is a canon ship, because they canonically have feelings for each other/had a whole romance thing going on, but they're NOT a canon couple, because they were left open ended and never actually got together.
