Long story short, Nikki is a Karelian-Finnish young adult who was born in Petrozavodsk, Russia, but fled through Norway, then Finland (to her mother's parents) in February 2022. She also used to be a photomodel back in Russia, but she gave up on it and is now studying Anthropology! She knows Karelian because her parents speak it at home - whenever she'd speak Russian at home, the parents would pretend they didn't understand what she said, until she spoke in Karelian.

Her goal is to become a linguistic anthropologist, studying languages going extinct, such as Karelian. Given she has people to entertain and keep up, Nikki became an activist on social media, talking about the dangers of Russia and wants to bring awareness to the political climate of her home country.

Since Sakari's parents work in the modelling business, he tells them about Nikki's former photomodelling club and so, this Finnish modelling agency meet her in person -- they're aware of the "Russia's National Photomodelling Club" being disbanded, and decide to ask Nikki about it. She doesn't agree taking interviews with them, however, what she agrees with is modelling for them - under the condition that she shall promote Karelian culture traditions - and so, anthropology meets fashion.
