Karhunkierros Hiking Trail, Oulanka National Park, Finland

Going to Oulanka was a bit hard because of road renovation work. And the road is up-and-down. So you have to be very careful while driving. The national park was very nice. There is a short trail to see river. We didn’t have much time and it was raining so we just walked the short trail and saw the river. There are a lot of info signs on the route, so while walking you can learn special information about Oulanka’s habitat.

My first trail run #nutskarhunkierros2022 is a wrap! Originally I was going with my brother @lumisota but he got a nasty flu this week. I had a race plan which worked out well: ⭐️Follow heart rate and stay on aerobic training until 2. refreshment stop at #konttainen. After that you can go faster if you can. ⭐️Run only downhills and even roads if you can (lots of rocks, mud and rootstock there which made it impossible for my inexperienced feet to run them). I did run pretty nice pace down the hills in some of them, though. ⭐️Walk all uphills. My final time was 4:59:11 and I was 76th in ladies’ series. Myllykoski pool in different light I . . Myllykoski rapid in Kuusamo has a little pool right after the stream. This pool gathers ice from river and they start to move inside the pool clockwise and counter-clockwise. Kitkajoki from above III . . Last but not least, Myllykoski rapid. Straight Finnish translation Mylly=mill koski=rapid. So the name comes from there that this rapid was formelry used to power local mill but nowadays this building (seen here in the picture left from the bridge right next to rapid) is just a tourist attraction.
