Later, both of them sat on the bench. Isagi leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees. His eyes drifted toward the playground where Keito's laughter rose and fell between slides.

"That's your kid, huh."

Karasu didn't look at him immediately. He leaned back, one arm resting along the bench. "…Yeah."

Isagi glanced sideways. "Congrats, man."

Karasu scoffed through his nose. "On what?"

Isagi hesitated, then, looked away with an awkward breath. "For getting married."

Karasu clicked his tongue. "You say weird things sometimes, dunce."

Isagi let out a quiet laugh anyway. The wind moved between them.

Isagi adjusted his posture, eyes narrowing slightly toward Karasu. "…So whatcha doing now?"

Karasu scratched the back of his neck. "Working as Finance analyst."

Isagi blinked.  "…What?"

Karasu turned his head slowly. "Got a problem?"

"Oh no, I just… didn't expect that." Isagi stared for a second, then, laughed under his breath. "That actually fits you more than I thought."

Karasu's mouth twitched. "Yeah, I know."

Isagi leaned back as his eyes drifted upward. "I wonder what everyone else is doing?"

Karasu didn't answer immediately. His gaze shifted toward the playground. Isagi noticed the pause.

"…They're still playing, right?"

Karasu's hand tapped once against the bench. "I hate to break it to ya but most of them quit."

Isagi froze as his breath hitched.

"…What?"

Karasu didn't look at him. "Not everyone will stay the same."

Isagi shook his head quickly like rejecting the sentence itself. "Bachira wouldn't—"

"He coaches kids now."

Isagi's hand tightened slightly on his knee. “Then, Rin?”

"Same as Bachira."

"Okay…Chigiri?"

"Physical therapy."

Isagi's eyes slowly lowered. "How about …Kunigami?"

"Police officer."

"Dang it! There should be someone else playing football with me. Reo and Nagi?"

"Mikage company."

His fingers curled. "Your kohai, Hiori?"

"Tsk, lemme see who did I miss out…Oh, Kurona?"

That one made Isagi exhale through his nose. The bench creaked softly as Isagi leaned back again.

"So…I'm the only one still chasing it."

Karasu didn't respond right away. His eyes stayed on Keito who was climbing a slide in the distance.

"Yeah..."

Isagi stared at his own hands. His fingers flexed and went still.

"…So everyone just… moved on."

Karasu shrugged. "People do come and go."

Isagi gave a fake laugh. "I thought we’d at least still be on the same field."

Karasu's voice came lower. "Doesn’t work like that, you ordinary Egoist."

Silence stretched between them and Isagi looked away.

Karasu spoke again. "Was it worth it?"

Isagi blinked.

Karasu still wasn't looking at him. "Being the last one standing on Blue Lock and watching all your teammates getting locked off.."

He paused for a moment.

"You got what Blue Lock wanted. You're an extraordinary striker. You win, dumbass."

His eyes shifted slightly just enough to catch Isagi.

"…Yer happy now?"

Isagi opened his mouth, then, closed it. His shoulders dropped a fraction and nothing came out.

Karasu watched and leaned back. "Yeah, thought so."

Both are strict and dedicated in their respective fields, but Isagi is simply more endearing by his students because of his gentle nature and his attempts to make the class more entertaining, while Karasu is the hated teacher because of his bitchy attitude.

Which is why, a random-fed up student with Karasu's bullshit, decides to pair them up as a coping mechanism, their group of friends finds out and thinks "my fcking god this is genius" so they keep the delusion alive until it reaches more and more people, including all the teachers.

Therefore the drama begins.
