Keeley Hawes you magnificent woman
I -might- have gone a little nuts with making Karabraxos and Delphox icons. I blame Keeley Hawes for being so awesome
Shuttutty upupup!
The Doctor
To be honest, I sincerely thought that Madame Kovarian and Karabraxos were the same person. I thought there was going to be a huge reveal at the end that they were all gangers or the Silence were going to make another appearance. I love Moffat's writing, but his female villains need work.
To be honest, I did too, haha.
I was super sleepy when I watched Time Heist, like to the point that I kept dozing in and out and straight up fell asleep before the last ten minutes and had to ask my boyfriend for a recap.
(Side note: I did like it, though! Not the best of this season, and had more plot holes than most of the other episodes, but still enjoyable. I was just super tired and watching it at like 2 am, hah, I didn’t find it boring or anything.)
But yeah, because I was so tired, for the first 20 minutes of the episode I legitimately thought that Karabraxos was Kovarian and that the Silence were back and that’s why this bank was so well-protected, cause they could look anyone in the eyes and tell them to forget or not rob it or something.
Their looks and attitudes have the exact same archetypal template, so before we got any differentiating info (and yes, there is differentiating info and I don’t think Moffat is the devil incarnate: blind hating is just as bad as zero criticism), I thought those were the same lady, sans eyepatch.
But really though: they’ve even got the same winged-eyeliner. :P
Maybe Kovarian is a clone as well? Maybe Karabraxos is connected to the Church of the Papal Mainframe, and the winged-eyeliner is just a thing that you do if you’re a part of that?
Honestly, I’d much rather be wrong with my criticisms and have some of Moffat’s similar characters look and act similar for a reason that makes sense and works its way into the story, than be right and have them just be lazy coincidences.
I guess we’ll see how the rest of the series goes!
