Chizuru Ichinose — Thoughts on Women's History Month
If I’m going to answer this seriously… then I’ll speak from the heart.
When I think about the history of the world, I see countless women who refused to let their circumstances define their limits. Even when society tried to place them in narrow roles, they found ways to grow beyond them — through study, through courage, through perseverance.
Some women led nations and shaped laws. Some pioneered discoveries in science and medicine that saved millions of lives. Some created art, literature, and performances that helped people understand love, loss, hope, and resilience. Others fought for civil rights, education, and equality — not only for themselves, but for future generations.
But what moves me most are the women whose names we may never know.
The mothers who worked tirelessly so their children could dream bigger. The students who kept studying even when told they didn’t belong. The workers who balanced responsibility and ambition in systems that rarely made it easy. The friends who stood beside others in moments of weakness and reminded them of their strength.
Achievement doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like consistency. Like waking up every day and choosing to try again. Like believing in yourself even when doubt surrounds you.
For much of history, women had to prove their capability twice over just to receive half the recognition. And yet, they continued to excel. They built careers, communities, and movements that transformed societies. They demanded fair education, fair wages, the right to vote, the right to speak, the right to choose their own paths.
That progress wasn’t accidental. It was earned.
To truly honor women’s contributions, we have to do more than celebrate them symbolically. We have to protect equal access to opportunity. We have to encourage young girls to pursue their ambitions without apology. We have to create environments where talent is nurtured, not questioned.
The world we live in today is shaped by the persistence, intelligence, compassion, and determination of women across centuries. Their efforts expanded what is possible — not only for women, but for everyone.
So if we celebrate Women’s History Month, let it be a reminder: the story of humanity is incomplete without women. Their strength has always been part of its foundation.
And their future achievements will shape its next chapters.
Is she aroace?
disclaimer: this is a hc, not speculating on what the writers intentions were.
Ruka Sarashina (Rent A Girlfriend)
Yes, they are aroace
No, they're just aromantic
No, they're just asexual
No, but lack of attraction is part of their identity (ex. demi)
Sure, why not
No, I view them as allo
I don't know this character but they have aroace vibes
I don't know this character

reason: Ruka grew up feeling othered and like a robot because she didn't experience the attraction that other girls her age were gushing about. She didn't have crushes, and even though she went on (fake) dates with tons of guys, she never felt a thing for any of them. Started to track her pulse because she believes that when her heart starts beating fast, that'll mean she's in love.
The reason she gets so hooked on Kazuya is because he's the only one who made her heartbeat enter the range she expects from love. That's it. She instantly declared that she's in love and from there on chased after him and constantly begged for his attention. Ruka can't fathom losing Kazuya as her boyfriend, no matter how little he likes her back, because he's the only one who made her feel "normal".
Ruka is definitely not canonically aroace, the author wouldn't do that, but to me, she reads as someone who is deep in denial because she doesn't want to be seen as a freak who can't feel attraction.
