sunday studyin’ with a friend ☕️
Japanese study update:
Currently happy with my decision to unearth my Japanese copy of Sailor Moon Vol. 1 and use it as study material 🥺 Between prior kanji + vocab knowledge, slowing down to pick apart reoccurring grammar like casual speech and reading and rewatching Sailor Moon over the years, even if I don't 100% understand everything, those three former are carrying me through a lot.
It's definitely NOT a substitute for building a foundation for beginner (even intermediate) vocab and grammar BUT my life is really busy right now and I don't have the bandwidth for classes.
My immediate goal is getting through the first chapter, then seeing if I want to continue, curating my study routine as I go.

This character is a combination of 㹜 two dogs (犭 + 犬), indicating a fight, and 言 word/speak. Originally 獄 referred to a dispute, and eventually came to mean “litigation.” Over time the meaning broadened and led to the current meanings of “imprisonment” and “prison.”
63-71/100 days of Productivity
25th-2nd of February
Over the last couple of days, I:
Completed 17 Japanese listening tasks
Practiced cello twice
Finished all my methods homework
Went over two history mindmaps
Finished a Japanese Practice Exam (it’s bloody hard by the way)
Practiced at least 1500 characters of kanji (I lost track, and there were a lot of pages)
Watched The Wretched (4/10? I mean, it kinda bored me a little so I just ended up playing sudoku throughout most of it)
Watched Zodiac (2007) (8/10, good suspense, historically accurate, come on, it has Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo, and Jake Gyllenhaal in it!!)
Watched Part 1 of Lupin, the TV series (9/10, exactly what I wanted out of a Arsène Lupin adaptation. I’ve always been a fan of Lupin and Omar did a great job as the gentleman thief)
Finished my History courseworks
Finished my English Writing Task
Caught up with the newest episodes of WandaVision (was weirded out by the first few episodes. Episode 4 however, revealed some rather interesting stuff)
School started!!
Did half a chapter’s worth of Chemistry questions
