At the end of his past life, he fell into the hands of the followers of Yaoshi. In their attempts to "cure" him, they managed to force him into reincarnation, but his new incarnation was cursed by mara. After his rebirth, the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus became interested in his curse. Another Vidyadhara, who had undergone the same procedures, lost his mind and killed all the Disciples. Kanda was forced to kill that Vidyadhara himself.
After that, he returned to the Xianzhou Alliance, searching for his beloved, memories of whom carried over into his new life, and to eradicate the abominations of Abundance.
