I’m Protag Lucas brained, so I’ve always felt that Cyllene and Volo would stand out as the most significant two when comparing the PLA cast to people he knows. You’ve got the women who looks like the man he had to take down personally, which likely left a strong impression on him. And the man who looks like the women who is potentially his mentor. Cynthia being Protag Lucas’s mentor is for sure headcanon territory, it’s true, but I’ve always felt that if the Protag does go on to become Champion, Cynthia would for sure assist them in the transition. She just strikes me as that type. But to an Assistant Lucas, while he’s not unfamiliar with who Cyrus and Cynthia are, they wouldn’t have left as strong of an impression on him. Practically Cynthia (but even with Cyrus he would have had much less direct contact with him).

The character who would stand out the most in Hisui to an Assistant Lucas would actually be Kamado. That’s his mentor. The guy he studies under and greatly respects and looks up to. Protag Lucas knows Rowan too, of course, but would not have anywhere near as close of a bond with him as Assistant Lucas would. This would likely translate to Kamado coming across as easily trustworthy. Any of his sternness is just similar to how Rowan comes across as stern at times but does still care. The exile would also hit much harder for an Assistant Lucas. I feel he would be more blindsided by it and perhaps more likely to wonder if maybe Kamado is right. Since again, he’d be projecting his feelings about Rowan onto Kamado (the way I feel a Protag Lucas might similarly do with Volo)
