Villains Contest 2: Candidate n°18 (Kalmaar)

Kalmaar is an antagonist of Ninjago. He is the king of Merlopia. he hates humans that he seeks their extermination. Benthomaar is his adoptive brother and archenemy (alongside with the Ninjas).

-Voldemort: "Another Lego humanoid again. And this time, it's a creature with tentacules. 😤"

-Kalmaar (upset): (to Voldemort) "I am Kalmaar, King of all Oceans from Ninjago, filthy albino human ! 😡"

Voldemort (mad): "The fuck ?! I am a wizard. To compare me to a filthy Muggle can be a fatal mistake, squid. 😡"

-Maleficent: "It seems that squid sentient has issues with mankind."

-Loki: "What do you think about humans, King from the sea ?"

-Kalmaar: (to Loki) "Humans from the land are disgusting. They pollute the waters and they can't naturally breathe in the depths. And you and your Jury mates both look like humans."

-Loki: "I am a God even if I look like a Midgardian. Do you act like Namor ?"

-Kalmaar: "I just rule a world without humans where the water is omnipresent and I don't want any emerging island. 😈"

-Frieza: "I begin to like this guy. Earthlings are an useless species to the universe."

-Magneto: "In my homeworld, there is mutants and normal people but I am aware that they are both biologically humans."

-Doctor Doom: "You look more humanist than us, Magneto. There is too many r*c*sm in this Jury. 😒"

-Magneto: "Yeah. Some of you are more r*c*st than I was against non-mutants. I think about to take control of the Jury. 😠"

-Palpatine: "You will try your chance later, lord Magneto. But let's time to listen the Kalmaar's career."

His villainy's journey:

Kalmaar is the son of king Trimaar of Merlopia. When Kaalmar was kid, he was already hateful and mockful toward the human people. He didn't tolerated the presence of Benthomaar (adoptive brother) in the royal palace. His father King Trimaar who was nice and wise) was disappointed by his son's anti-human sentiment. In same time, Kalmaar was fascinated by Wojira, a godly water snake who could cause the apocalypse on earth. So, he made secret researches on the water snake for years at his father's unknownledge.

His biggest crimes:

Kalmaar captured Nya and her mother and he pressured them to give the Guardians Island's location to better take the missing amulet that can reawaken Wojira. He later killed his father, King Trimaar, and he falsely incriminated the Ninjas for the regicide. That justified a war against the humanity from Ninjago continent. Once Kalmaar became King of Merlopia, he invaded Ninjago. He managed to reanimate and to control Wojira. So, he elevated the level of the sea to flood Ninjago. But Kalmaar met his demise by being eaten by Wojira after his cursed brother Benthomaar destroyed the amulet.

-Voldemort (mockful): "It seems that you wasted your role, squidman. 😅 My own snakes cannot eat me. 😏"

-Magneto: "Too racist. You lose. 😛"

-Kalmaar: "You are really all too arrogant even in this universe, you non-aquatic beings. Humans are arrogant. 😒"

-Sauron: I am a Maia, I dislike humans too."

-Maleficent: "I am a fairy."

-Frieza (annoyed): "I am an alien who can survive in Space and I destroyed planets. Don't put me in the same class as these tailess monkeys. 😠"

-Kalmaar (delusional, angry): "So, I must flood the entire multiverse to drown everyone. I'm pissed off to hear your annoying voices anymore. 😡"

I don't think that siccing the ancient sea snake on anyone who can breathe air was the smartest move there

What was his thought process when her venom reawakened the Stone Warrior exhibit, when an entire Stone Army wreaked havoc on the city... And then returned to do so a second time, with most people being infected by Dark Matter? When he saw a giant demonic dragon on the horizon, did Krux panic and wonder if his Vermillion could handle the Overlord and his indestructible army, or was his plan to just lay low, wait for the return of Acronix and the other Time Blades, and then use Iron Doom to prevent all of this from happening? And when Cyrus Borg revamped all of Ninjago City with his technology, Krux must've been relieved when he undid those changes later on.

The Island of Darkness rising from the ocean, realistically, must've displaced an enormous amount of water, and thus had a huge impact on the global ecosystem. I think it would've been cool to have this mentioned by Kalmaar during Seabound; Maybe he points to this as an example of how the land dwellers continue to disrupt their world and steal from it, lifting the ocean floor to the arid surface and suffocating countless creatures?

We sort of have an idea for what Harumi was thinking when the Overlord attacked, twice; Her reaction to him is horror, and she initially refuses to work with the embodiment of evil. So she must've been scared again, and hoping Garmadon would stop the Overlord... Did she see and recognize Garmadon's body, mutated by the Overlord's possession?

When the Serpentine began to return, one tribe at a time, was Chen concerned about the Anacondrai coming back, and them getting in the way of his plan to take over Ninjago with his impostor Anacondrai? Was there relief when it became apparent that Pythor was the only survivor? What did he plan to do about the Great Devourer, or Dark Matter suddenly infecting entire swathes of the population?
