I’ve had this Kaiba UNDERTALE Au sitting in my drafts for 2 years now called Tale Of Memories
Instead of humans & monsters, there’s those with memory chips, & those without. Rich Vs. Poor. The poor can only live below electrical clouds that erase anyone’s memories that fall down, a division between social classes.
Warp was the first to fall into the world beneath the clouds, making him Chara. He wasn’t the best person, nor did he fall into this world for a good reason. Neiro takes Asriel’s role, the first person to show him kindness upon arrival. She names him Kaiba, & they even have lockets of eachother!!
Popo & Sate could be Toriel & Asgore. They’re not Neiro’s parents, but they lead a group against memory technology, Issoudan. They believe that Warp, The King of Memories, is responsible for their fate, & would kill him to usurp his throne & make the word better. Neiro just so happens to be a new member.
Instead of The Plan Asriel & Chara come up with, Kaiba regains his memories of being Warp, heading back up to his castle above the clouds in shame. However, Neiro is sent up on a mission to poison him & retrieve his memory chip, but she can’t bring herself to do it. Instead, she tries to help Warp remember the good memories of his past. However, seeing Warp “step out of line,” a clone awakens & takes control of his castle & throne. As Warp & Neiro fall back into the clouds, he shields her memories from being affected.
Falling back into the world beneath the clouds without any memories, he now takes the role Frisk. He is given the name Warp by Popo.
Kichi helped bring Neiro back to life as Hyo-Hyo, being the Alphys & Flowey of this AU respectively. Hyo-Hyo follows Warp on their adventure while trying to give him hints on the world & who she is, despite only being able to say her name.
The Kaiba Plant appears throughout the AU, progressively getting bigger & bigger. Some characters mention it as a plant that absorbs memories, & it can barely be seen in the act…
Chroniko fits the role of Monster Kid WAY too well, just some girl who befriends Warp on his journey. She looks up to the Undyne of this Au, Gel. A stoic, muscular women who knows far too well what Warp is capable of.
In the Neutral route, The Kaiba Plant is the final boss, haven gotten big enough due to absorbing memories of others out of loneliness, Sate’s included. The different phases reflect Warp’s own memories, before willingly giving up those memories to overwhelm the plant. The plant can be spared or killed, but it will regrow later…
Continuing into the pacifist route, Warp makes new memories as he befriends the main characters. Sate’s fight against Warp is cut short upon Popo’s arrival, informing her that they should just focus on getting rid of the clouds instead of revenge. The rest of the cast arrives, and as they chat, a “tiny flower” is mentioned. The room fills with horror as The Kaiba Plant arrives, consuming the memories of everyone around it, as Warp must face his past & free his friends! He manages to free almost everyone, & tries his hardest to SAVE Hyo-Hyo/Neiro’s memories from the plant…
Once the fight comes to an end, It is only Warp & Neiro, who finally gets to speak his name… Kaiba. After a heartfelt scene, she knows she must return everyone’s memories, and that she will soon disappear, even if Hyo-Hyo will continue to live & carry her memories.
In the No Mercy Run, the more people Kaiba kills, the more he remembers his own past as a ruthless king. This only feeds into his feeling that he doesn’t need connections, he doesn’t deserve to be loved. Everyone eventually falls to Kaiba’s knees, even Hyo-Hyo & The Kaiba Plant.
With the world beneath the clouds now empty, a young clone of Kaiba appears, proclaiming himself to be Warp. He remembers dethroning Kaiba, & has been updating his memory chip to match Kaiba’s memories. This is how Warp remembers all of his actions, progressively becoming stronger just as Kaiba did. Impressed by his power, Warp congratulates Kaiba & offers him his throne, which you can choose to join or refuse. Either way, Warp kills Kaiba.
However, Warp comes to realize there is something he doesn’t have; the true power of Kaiba’s body that he himself lacks as a clone. So, Warp makes a deal, he will upload his memories into Kaiba’s body in exchange for using his memory powers to recreate the world. The only way to proceed from this blank screen is to accept.
AND uhh yeah that’s about it ! Feel free to add your own ideas to this if you’d want, especially since not every Undertale role is accounted for yet.
