Here are some more ideas for this AU. Ideas that will make you all think that I have a grudge against Kai. But I haven't.

Kai wasn't the only master that fought in the final battle against the monsters. There were eight more masters, new ones as well as old ones, but none of them were able to help Kai in the battle against the powered up Fuzz.

Daidan sadly falls after the final battle. She succumbs to her injuries after the survivors were able to flee the island. The loss of the dragon took hard on everyone. Especially Kai. Who blames himself for failling his friend/mother after their last goodbye.

In the last scene. Where Kai arrives at the monastery and sees his family again. Living, happy and "moved on" from him like the fate of his fellow survivors. It was the final drop.

He had a mental breakdown. His brain couldn't handle the stress, the PTSD. His body was drained from adrenaline and so he fell unconcious.

He was found by Bolsen and a fellow master Kai fought together with during the escape.

His name is Kaze, The Master of Shadows .

Bolsen and Kaze sees the party at monastery. Bolsen is a realist but can't help to feel sorrow for Kai. Knowing full well what Kai went through to see his family again. He didn't want Kai to face the same pain he and his wife, Lily, did when they meet their angry relatives again.

While Kaze gets angry. He and Kai didn't work well together at first because of their personlities and diffrent morales. But after getting to know more about eachother. He had grew to respect Kai and feels angry that his family had given up on him.

But Kaze is neither suprised. Because he also was forgotten by his clan. Replaced by a new Master.

When Kai woke up later on. During the travel to their new beginning. Their new hometown far away from the empire reach. Kai dosen't remember his past or his name.

His mind had suppresed some of his current and mostly his past memories. A last deseprate move his brain did to save him from going mad.

His new allies, especially the other masters. Terrified that if they force Kai to remember his past. He might go mad from realizing his family has moved on. The Master of fire might lose control over his element and hurt himself.

So. They give him the name Ash. Who becomes the town local smith.

His personality goes from his exteoverted persona to a introverted broken man. Like the others who tries to start a new after surviving the Land of the monsters.

Kai gets adopted by two kids. A boy and a girl who are the twin masters of copy.

Kai, now as Ash and Kaze started to grow feelings for eachother.

The town lies close to the coast. It's a eerie yet peaceful place that protects the fused lands from the remaning monsters.

The ninjas will hear about this mysterious town. The last hope. The town famoua for their monster hunters. And they will travel there before Ras or the empire tries to make contact first.

This will be an AU inspired by Ninjago: Dragons Rising, Ninjago legends: Monstrosity and Tom Hanks: Cast Away.

The Land of the Monsters is a sentient being. A hungry beast that is not willing to let go of the merge-displaced citizens.

Especially not the Master of Fire, Kai,

Kai,during his time together with Daidan and Bolsen has found survivors in this hell.

They are Serpentine, Formlings, humans and much more, who was taken by force from their home realms during the Merge.

And all are working together to create a boat to help them escape the Land of the Monsters.

Kai, Daidan and Bolsen are protecting the workers from monsters attacks.

When they finally was done with the boat. Ready to escape from this awfull realm, monsters attacked.

Lead by Fluff, who has grown to the same size as his mother, and become the Land new proto-host.

It became chaos. But somehow they were lucky and everyone was able to escape on the boat.

But Kai didn't. They ninja of fire went full on together with Daidan to fight against the monsters.

And they didn't held back.

And in the battle, Kai saw more and more monsters attacked the boat, so he ordered/begged Daidan to protect the boat with the innocent civilians. She didn't want first but Kai was able to use his fire to send her to the boat location.

But doing so, he came face to face with the possessed Fuzz.

This was their fated final battle. Kai used all of his skills he had learned from his time under Master Wu, his battles and from his family. The family he has fought so hard to return to.

The battle was brutal. And the possessed got the upperhand thanks to it's stronger and mutated form.

And the Land of the Monsters used this against. With words how his family has moved on after all these years, that they are nothing more but bad memoriesthat their "family" given up on, he and the survivors had nothing to return too and should just give up.

And he will make sure the firewielder obey by humbling him.

And thus. The possessed Fuzz ripped Kai right hand off.

Kai's mind was in shock. But something inside awakened. A new power that fuled his flame.

He went berserk! He attacked Fuzz! His flames cleaved and burned the disgusting monster along with it's minions.

Even the hellish lands, once swallowing the remains of weak, were set on flame by the Fire master's wrath.

Kai finally embraced his rage and let the full destructive potential of the flame out on the abominations and the corrupt lands

He roared to Fuzz and the spirit of the realm that they were wrong! That his family is waiting for him! That they will escape from this lands and they will return everything back to normal again.

And he did this will ignoring his serious wound and his decipcated arm.

As Kai came back to his senses. He saw the destruction and death he had bringed. And infront of him stood the laughing burned corpse of Fuzz. The only thing that remained in it was the spirit of the land, laughing bitterly at Kai.

It told Kai he might have won this battle. But the monsters will always come back even if it no longer existed, and to take his warning to heart. Because after the Merge. The world was no longer the beautiful and fragrant. It was just as grey as the sky.

And the spirit disperesed and the land crumpled into the ocean.

Kai lost his conciness from the lost of energy and his wounds. Falling into the dark ocean.

He woke up days later. Bandaged and with only arm

. He saw he survivors along with Bolsen and Daidan had arrived to the coast of the merged ninjago city.

All of them had gone into hiding and Kai saw that several survivors had depressed faces.

He got to know the horrible news from Bolsen. That these survivors had contacted their families.

But instead of being welcomed with opens arms and tears of joy. They were greeted by anger, bitternes and hostility. Their remaning family members had moved on.

Bolsen, wih along some older survivors were planing to leave the city. Because it wasn't safe with the empire forces around. To start over.

Kai didn't listen. He rushed out from their headquarter, taking clothes as he disguised himself and he heard Bolsen shouting after him.

Kai ran. Nothing looked the same in the new ninjago city in the night. Old nostalgic memories of the cities part was gone. But he didn't care. He needed to find the monastery!

Because he knew. If he found it he would find his family.

And he found it and rushed to it and feelt so much happiness.

But when he arrived. He saw his family and new faces. Happy and partying together with their new allies, their new family.

It was then the last words Abonimation Fuzz told him. What he had warned him.

His family had moved on. They had left the memories of the merge in the past and started a new family.

"When the fire dies, All it remains is Ash, a cold and cruel reminder it existed once warmth there"

I am currently rewriting parts of my Monstrosity!Kai AU. Where Kai didn't just lose his memories. But also became the land of the monsters new champion.

Ladies and gentlemen! Let me introduce Ninjago Dragons Rising new villain! The fallen ninja of fire and the new host of the land of monsters.

So I REALLY like the Jaya ship, but I also love the Plasma ship and I've always wanted plasma to be cannon, but also for it to not run over Jay and Nya.

So, what if when Jay lost his memory in dragons rising, he forgot everyone EXCEPT Kai. Like whenever he felt lost or alone, his mind would remember the warmth of the only person he remembers and he starts to daydream about him. And one day, he runs into the ninja.

Nya is of course received and getting close to him and being familiar with him. Of course she is because they were dating before the merge, but Jay, rather Rouge, is just like "Who are you???" And this breaks Nyas heart, especially when Jay meets kai and is be I ng close to him and seemingly remembers him. Like how could he remember her brother and not her???

Kai have amnesia because the corrupted effect the Land of the monsters had on him.

He no longer remebers the ninjas or his past as the master of fire. He only remebers Daidan and Rusty.

Daidan and Kai have now a Mother-Son relationship. Daidan has officially adopted Kai as her new Kit.

Kai outfit is like the one from Legends. But now without the effect of the land of the monsters. One can see the darkened red from his torn Gi, his skin is pale and his once beautiful eyes that were filled with energy. Is now pale and grey.

He is a dangerous fighter. A monster in human disguise and has full control over his fire. And it seems his flame has become more destructive then it was before.

He would look like a disguised wanderer, a dishonored samurai. A true dark reflection of who Kai used to be.

If Kai became a fighter for the Empire. Its because they either have caught Daidan or has Rusty's backup to blackmail him.

Or he gets kidnapped and forced to fight for the empire under the control of Ras.

The poor fire master has no trust for the ninjas.

And think how freaking tragic it would be if they had to fight Kai in the tournament of the sources. Where his identity is revealed during his battle against Cole.

Cole would be shocked, happy and horrified that the minion he is fighting is none other then his missing friend/secret love.He is overjoyed that he has found him. But why is he fighting for the empire? Why is he fighting for Ra's?

Lloyd would be heartbroken and shocked when this is revealed. That his missing brother has joined Ra's!? No! This is not true! Not Kai!!

When Kai use shatter-spin. His godness dosen't get destroyed because Kai was no longer same kind hot-headed man. He was now a monster who has forgotten his godness.

That happens to thoose who stays to long in the land of the monsters. They forget their godness.

He would see them as threat because of his battle against the water monster. His PTSD would remind him about the hallucinations from that battle.

He growls and is ready to fight them, he is like a feral animal backed in the corner.

The only one out of the ninjas he trust is Wildfyre. He starts to belive she is his real sister, that they were split during the merge and was taken in by dragons.

So it will be misunderstandings and Nya being jealous of Wildfyre having her brother's full attention.

Cinder has set his eyes for the amnesiac fire master. He has some intress in him, want to turn the feral master of fire to his subject.

Their relationship is toxic and Kai is very VERY uncomfortable around him.

And Kai will end the master of smoke if he ever dare to try inaproppitate things on him.
