A while back I did a fancast edit dump and said I was gonna post my own characters edits so here it goes!

In this interview, one of the devs (Caitlin), says that 7.6 is set to be at the end of 27 ATC/3626 BBY. So simple tiny tag game..

How old are your OCs in the current timeline?

Maverik'a : 34 years old (29 biologically).

Yuthuura : 42 years old.

Kaaydan & Rue : 44 years old.

Juhann & Kyahni : 43 years old.

Zarsh'a : 39 years old.

Raeshen : 40 years old.

After a successful espionage mission and a grandiose escape, Rue and Kaaydan "wind off" on the way back to the nearest spaceport..

Pairing: Smuggler x Imperial Agent

After breaking up with Risha and dismantling the Smuggler's crew, Kaaydan and Bowdaar left to Zakuul to lay low for a while. For Bowdaar it meant a new beginning, he slowly built up his life there and became the owner of the Platform 6 Cantina. And it just happens to be the place Kaaydan met his boyfriend but I'll come back later to that ;p Kaaydan's life on Zakuul was rough, not because of anything really, he was safe, with the money he gained throughout his career he bought himself a big luxurious appartment but he was alone and sad. It became an habit of him to go drink at cantinas, at least to get some fresh air, see something different. So he would go regularly to Bowdaar's cantina, obviously his drinks are probably discounted so he drinks there often (not that a lack of discount would stop him lol). One day, he's drinking at the bar alone, as usual, lost in his thoughts, in his solutitude. Then a Mirialan guy sitting nearby starts talking to him. Kaaydan is a bit confused because this is the first time he's being talked to in the cantina, so he's suprised but goes with it. Basically the guy (who has no name yet, I'm so sorry LMAO) is like "Do you always drink here? I see you everytime I come here." sort of hinting the drinking problem lol but then Kaaydan's like "Well I think that says as much about you than about me." and then he's like "I only come here a few times to relax after work, what about you?" And Kaaydan's like.. "Yea.. something like that." And then the guy apologizes and says that he's not usually chatty but the tipsiness got the best of him lol. He was just very curious to see another Mirialan because most Zakuulans are humans, so they started talking, telling each other where they originally came from. Kaaydan Nar Shaddaa and the guy Coruscant. Kaaydan was a smuggler, the guy was enrolled in the Republic. Then after the chatting was done, they introduced each other and then the guy left. But the next times he came to the cantina, he would go talk to Kaaydan and they started getting along. At the beginning, it was mainly in a buddy buddy way, specially since they didn't know each other's orientation yet, but they started to know each other better. To the point where the guy would open up more and tell why he actually came to Zakuul. So this is the mini biographical segment of this post!

Our Zakuulan used to have a happy life in the Republic. As I mentionned earlier, he was a trooper in the Republic army but he was actually a field medic. A job that burdened him as it would to anybody but he found it rewarding to help people in such trying times. He met his husband in the army as well, I imagine them being spouses for maybe around 10 years. So a serious, long-lasting, loving, relationship. They were happy despite the stuff they've seen on the field, despite the war, they were each other's haven... until.. you know where this is going.. the Eternal Empire struck multiple Republic worlds and took his husband's life in the process. It completely broke him, everything he loved about his life was gone. The gain from saving lives wasn't enough to compensate the loss he had just experienced, it wasn't worth it, nothing was worth losing his husband over. The Republic had let them down, he knew it wasn't their fault but he still blamed them. So he defected, left everything he knew and went to Zakuul to build a life there. He chose the planet for the same reason Kaaydan did, the Eternal Empire wouldn't cause destruction here. He slowly built his life there, trying to forget the grief, he became an accountant. He wanted a normal, boring life. And then he met Kaaydan.

They became closer and their dynamic became more ambiguous. Specially after connecting the dots that they could be together, he wouldn't believe Kaaydan when he told him he was a slut in his young days lol. But it became clear that romance was a possibility. I imagine them kissing for the first time at the Zakuulan new year, sort of as an affirmation that they want each other in their life. So after that they start dating and it goes very well in the beginning. It was both their first time dating someone in a long time. Obviously, the Zakuulan notices that Kaaydan struggles with his mental health but tries to get him out and distract him a little. He even tells him to get professional help since you know.. he was a doctor lmao but Kaaydan always finds his way out of those conversations so yea 😭

Things start getting rough after 6-8 months of dating, where Kaaydan basically can't keep up with the guy's expectations. In the sense that, the guy tries so hard to enjoy life and do new things while Kaaydan is still pretty much stuck in his doom. The guy wants to go foward and forget the past (which is unhealthy in a way), while Kaaydan just ponders on his regrets and doesn't move on (which is VERY unhealthy too). Their lifestyles start not working well, Kaaydan struggles with insomnia and just sleeps at the most inconvenient times, while the guy has a day job and stuff. Then things get more complicated where Kaaydan starts missing out on important events involving his boyfriend because he's too dysfunctional, and it hurts the boyfriend a lot. It's like, the guy tries to make Kaaydan an important aspect of his life and try to build a life together but Kaaydan fails to fit how he wants him to (and he knows it's selfish). So then the last straw is that Kaaydan misses out in like a job party his boyfriend invited him to, like he wanted to present him to his coworkers and their partners but he didn't come (cuz he was sleeping 💀). And that's basically the moment the Zakuulan is like, okay I can't anymore. He tells Kaaydan everything I just said, tells him that he knows he's selfish for wanting something from him he can't give but that he can't anymore. That he needs a man that stands tall and doesn't crumble at any challenge. He says that he's lived a life of selflessness and it took everything away from him, and that he no longer wanted to be selfless. That he needs to protect himself but he also knows he can't ask Kaaydan to change his nature, it would be unfair of him to do so. So they break up, Kaaydan doesn't beg him to stay because all he said was true, he's too fragile to fight for himself and to fight for his boyfriend. So from there his mental health just got worse, abandonment of any form is like the worst thing he could experience.
