dragging my soapbox into the yard…
here’s some facts
a celebrity existing in the world doesn’t give people (especially autograph hounds) permission to get in their face and demand pictures or autographs.
being chased by paps in the streets is distressing and entirely the paps’ fault. the onus is not on celebrities to avoid any place they might encounter them. they get to live a life and they get to tell these people not to invade their personal space.
hudson gets to go on vacation wherever he wants, especially if his friend invited him there. going to a club where he knows he will be photographed is a choice he made and he doesn’t need to get hate for that.
a celebrity can and will choose to show the fans some things, either directly e.g. via an insta dump or by attending an event where being filmed/photographed is a given. that does not imply blanket consent for any and all situations or places and it does not in any way limit or infringe upon their right to set boundaries. the boundaries are determined by the celeb, not the internet court of hateful opinions.
meghan markle once described this as someone having one private photo on their desk at work and a colleague demanding they hand over their phone so the colleague can look through their entire camera roll. (i’m fuzzy on the details, but the gist was this.) showing one or even a thousand moments does not give everyone carte blanche to witness all the moments.
have a nice day.
